More from the article...

... Weisselberg, 76, surrendered to the Manhattan prosecutor's office earlier Monday and entered state court in handcuffs, wearing a mask, before pleading guilty to five counts of perjury. Prosecutors accused Weisselberg of lying under oath when he answered questions in a deposition in May and at the October trial about allegations that Trump lied about his wealth on financial statements given to banks and insurance companies. ...

"The civil fraud trial resulted in a $454 million judgment against Trump for inflating the value of his real estate to get benefits such as lower interest rates from lenders.

The perjury conviction could serve as a warning to other witnesses in Bragg's trial against Trump on criminal charges of falsifying business records, which is set to begin March 25. Trump has pleaded not guilty."

.... or lying about things under oath.

This, from the cited article, looks interesting...

... Weisselberg has already served a jail term for tax fraud and falsification of business records in an unrelated case.

But he received a $2 million settlement when leaving the Trump Organization and hasn't cooperated with government lawyers while testifying at Trump's fraud trial. ...

Was that $2M to ~encourage~ him to lie or, as the article notes the judge put it, be 'intentionally evasive' in his testimony?

If so, is there an "obstruction of justice" investigation in the works?

@#2 ... Hmmm ...

Yeah, it seems that parts of Trump Inc's defense in the fraud trial may have been based upon perjurious testimony.

This ain't good.

Yup.

But, imho, that is a minor part of this plea deal.

Fmr Pres Trump has appealed the fraud ruling against him.

And now, one of his supporting witnesses has pleaded guilty to perjury in his testimony in the case.

Does that guilty plea by Trump Inc's CFO help or hurt the appeal?

LAMP

"Does that guilty plea by Trump Inc's CFO help or hurt the appeal?"

Donald Trump appeals $454 million judgment in New York civil fraud case The former president's lawyers filed notices of appeal Monday asking the state's mid-level appeals court to overturn the Feb. 16 verdict and reverse penalties that threaten Trump's cash reserves.

I don't see how it can possibly help. Weisselberg's perjury was a failed attempt to get Trump off the hook. Trump's attorneys are certainly not going to bring it up

Plus, the "appeal" is still touch-and-go and Weisselberg has already pleaded guilty of perjury~~ a felony all by itself. IMO, this was a stand-alone case regardless of what happens on Trump's appeal. (BTW, the hour glass has ticked down to 18 days)

But Trump is an innocent man! It's everybody he has ever worked with, or is related to, who's guilty. Donald is innocent. In fact, he's a victim. Just ask him.

Send him to Dannemora. NY State and other governments must make examples of these members of the Trump Crime Family. You talk--OK we go easy on you. You don't talk--your family will never see you again...

Alvin Bragg better bring this into the criminal business fraud case...as entertaining as Stormy Daniels will be, the felonies in State court are the real meat of this impending trial.

THIS is the one that really keeps Trump up at night...
May he have a debilitating brain aneurysm because of it.

The Trump Org fraud case without an appeal?

Technically broke, in debt, out of business and options is going to turn Trump into a foaming maniac.

Let the good times roll.
