Government employees have long protected the ballot from attacks. The president is preparing to fire many of them.

In its crusade against federal agencies, the Trump administration is targeting our election system, making potentially dangerous reductions to protections that help keep elections free, fair, and secure. On Friday, the acting director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency sent a memo to all agency staff notifying them that "all election security activities" would be paused pending the results of an internal investigation. The memo also stated that the administration was cutting off all funds to the Election Infrastructure Information Sharing and Analysis Center--a Department of Homeland Security-funded organization that helps state and local officials monitor, analyze, and respond to cyberattacks targeting the nation's election hardware and software.

"all election security activities" would be paused"

Well... that's what you have to do if you want to give access to all the Russian troll farms; open the gates for the Russian enemy that has been interfering in ours and other countries elections.

And Trump is doing everything Russia ever wanted him to. Because he and their Oligarchs are thick as thieves. Actually, they make your average thieves look like pikers.

If you're not planning on allowing any more elections what do you need election security for?

election hardware and software.

will not be needed as we are going to paper ballots and same-day voting, ID required, English only.

Oh, they are going to have elections, the kind of fake elections Orban and Putin have.

"going to paper ballots and same-day voting"

So, your plan is to disenfranchise all service members?!?

And what's your plan for 6-hour long voting lines? Still only in minority neighborhoods???

And you're crapping on the disabled???

Perhaps our new "constitution," you know . . . the one drawn up by the Heritage Foundation . . . will allow for free elections . . . RUSSIAN STYLE.

Ya' think?

And any opponent, if he isn't fast enough to escape out of the country, will disappear into the bowels of Gitmo, (or Siberia) never to be seen again.

Of course, they are.

They know that the appetizer is immensely distasteful. They have to destroy election integrity to maintain power after they serve us the main course.

The Trump Administration Is Going After Our Elections Too

This is the PRIMARY objective. The rest is just a smoke screen to disguise his real intent.

Yes Trump is requiring election honesty with citizen.ID and proof. DEMS still don't care

I have no problem with voter ID and have advocated for such for a long time. That said, proof of citizenship? How, a birth certificate? You gotta be shi**in' me. Have you looked at yours? What on that document proves beyond any doubt that that document refers to you, your person? Absent finger prints or such it don't. This is cosplay bovine fecal matter.

@#11 ... I have no problem with voter ID and have advocated for such for a long time. ...

As have I. No problems with voter ID, so long as it is not used to turn away valid voters.

Indeed, I have often stated my support of Connecticut's voter ID requirement.

... How, a birth certificate? You gotta be shi**in' me. Have you looked at yours? ...

Yes, I have looked at mine. Indeed, I used it to get the Gold Star on my CT driver's license. But I also realize that many folk may not have had their birth certification so carefully passed on to them by their parents.

Which seems to go to the nub of your comment ...

... What on that document proves beyond any doubt that that document refers to you, your person? Absent finger prints or such it don't. This is cosplay bovine fecal matte ...

Good point.

All I have on my birth certificate to prove that I am me is the embossed seal of the City of New York.

Apparently, that was enough to get that gold star on my driver's license.

But prove that I am me?

I see your point.

Thanks for raising it.
