"Today, we made an offer that the Ukrainians have accepted, which is to enter into a cease-fire and into immediate negotiations to end this conflict in a way that's enduring and sustainable and accounts for their interests, their security, their ability to prosper as a nation," Rubio said.
"And hopefully we'll take this offer now to the Russians, and we hope that they'll say yes, that they'll say yes to peace," Rubio said. "The ball is now in their court."

Considering that Russia has the US Pres on a short leash, they'll get whatever they want.

It's actually a Carrot and a Stick story.... Ukraine launched a massive drone attack on Russia:
"How did Ukraine's unprecedented' drone attack manage to break through Moscow's defences?
The drones used are made in Ukraine, employ the latest technology, and were sent in such numbers that Russian air defences were unable to cope
Ukraine's massive and widespread drone attacks against Russia on the eve of talks between the US and Ukraine employed exactly the same tactics as Moscow has used to terrorise its neighbour for three years: the swarm."

Marco Rubio Says Ukraine Must Cede Territory In Any Peace Deal
www.channel3000.com
Obviously Trump and Putin already have a deal. Now they just need to bully Zelenskyy into giving up territory now.... and expecting another invasion later.

Our nations leading onanist has put himself into a box. Z has indicated he will accept a ceasefire. Vlad the sausage maker will not, wanting nothing but conquest. Arguments that Z doesn't want peace are now null and void, since the aggressor wants to press its position. So, does the US again send war material to Ukraine or does Trump agree with the aggressor, knowing that doing so will not lead to peace.
Trump's negotiating team includes a condo salesman and a general that is not allowed at the table with the Russians, because he openly supports Ukraine. And the US President, who said he would resolve this war in 24 hours, is now where he was before the election, watching from the sidelines and acting like a Monday morning quarterback. The stupidity is odious ...

A cease-fire is really just a moment for Russia to reload and everyone except the dumb ass in chief knows it.

Ukraine's agreement is a political but necessary move to appease Trump and get weapons aid to help repel the Russian invaders. They know, fully well, that no cease fire agreement would axtually be respected by Putin butthin skinned Donnir needs to believe that Zelinsky respects him which is utterly rediculous but very pragmatic by Zelinsky.

What cease fire?
There isn't going to be a cease fire.
There never was going to be a cease fire.
Apparently because Trumpy holds no cards and Pooty Pants holds all the cards.
It's pretty funny that maga maroons actually thought Trumpy could have had any actual influence on his hero, mentor and spiritual guide.

True. The Ukrainian forces cannot retake the Donbass, Crimea, nor Luhansk. Assuming WW3 broke out tomorrow, the entire EU combined has less than 400,000 front line combat troops to commit with 1.6 million support troops. That's the entire active militaries of every EU country plus the UK. None of them have experience in the 5th generation trenches. Their force concentrations would be smashed by fiber optic drones the same way Ukraine and Russia smash each others.

The EU would have to declare war on Russia and open entirely new fronts, driving from Poland, Estonia, invade Belarus through Poland, etc. Very German.

Also the entire point of NATO, to push the line forward and have multiple routes to Moscow.

The truth is, even if Putin pretends to agree, we all know he will never follow through. And I would bet every last penny I have on that one.

I think Putin has answed clearly what he thinks of Trump's cease fire and it sure ain't a pause in the fighting. If anything, it seems to have caused more intense attacks. At this point I think Trump should stay out of it; it just gives Putin more opportunities to humiliate him on the world stage. Pretty obvious Putin has absolutely no respect for the current President of the United States.

Putin would like for Ukraine to cease firing, so that Russia can finish the invasion.
