Police have been cleared of any wrongdoing many times over, when they serve a search warrant on the wrong address, killing innocent civilians along the way.
So why should this be any different?
Republicans have fought for decades to get us here, where it's legal to disappear Americans.

"Nichole Micheroni, who was born and raised in Massachusetts, and Carmen Bello, who is from the Dominican Republic but who has been a U.S. citizen for almost 20 years, both received a letter demanding that they leave the country. The correspondence from DHS is similar to threatening letters received by the lawyers' clients. "Do not attempt to remain in the United States " the federal government will find you" the letter adds."

"A U.S.-born American citizen was being detained at the request of immigration authorities Thursday despite an advocate showing his U.S. birth certificate in court and a county judge finding no reason for him to be considered an "illegal alien" who illegally entered Florida."
