Speaking to Fox News on Thursday, Vance poured some cold water on earlier statements from the White House, while also claiming that US President Donald Trump managed to secure "a really big breakthrough" in the peace process.

Talks to end the war " which Trump previously promised to do within 24 hours of taking office " have largely stalled, despite several top level meetings and at least two direct phone calls between Trump and the Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Moscow continues to refuse the 30-day ceasefire agreement proposed by the US and agreed by Ukraine. The Kremlin also demands the recognition of the Ukrainian territories it took by force as part of Russia. Such a move would upend decades-long international laws.

At the same time, Russia continues its brutal aggression against Ukraine, bombing cities hundreds of miles away from the frontlines on an almost daily basis."

Well, that was a good ol' fashioned nod to Vlad not to worry about any silly mineral deal.

Vance: War in Ukraine Not Going to End Any Time Soon'

Certainly not with Putin's Bitch doing his best to undermine Ukraine and lift sanctions on Russia. Maybe Trump blacking out intelligence for Ukraine again before Russia's next offensive will do the trick.

The only way it ends is to negotiate a truce or escalate our involvement.

Another broken campaign promise.

I'm surprised he doesn't just declare the war over by Executive Order and be done with it.

Who knew that ending a war would be hard? I mean, we have one country that was attacked when they peacefully visited another country, and the country that attacked the visitors had so many of its beautiful soldiers killed because Biden gave them weapons. Russia was within its rights to fight back, and now look what happened. This is Biden's fault. He caused this war ...

No other options then?

So holding Russia accountable for violating international law and violating the sovereignty of a democratic nation and committing war crimes and acts of terror is definitely out of the question with you Putin lovers now I guess.

I dont see that minerals deal as necessarily good. Too often it is like every other treaty and interconnection between nations where the insiders and secret mil-industrial complex becomes embedded and false flags fester and create war.

Neither is the war in this country.
