As for Energy Star, this program started all the way back in 1992 under the first Bush administration. This is the department that's responsible for the iconic yellow stickers on home appliances.

The Dolt Patrol can shut down the program, but companies will not stop manufacturing methods, in search for even greater efficiency of use. No one is showing up at the hardware store searching for incandescent light bulbs, because (1) they are no longer made, and (2) LED bulbs use much less energy, give off less heat and last years longer. I'll bet all DR readers that one could walk into any Dump Hotel and find LED bulbs everywhere. Less energy use and less labor cost to keep all the lights on. Only a bad businessman would want higher costs, right, oh Orange One?

Trump is just insane! There was no logicak reason to end that program.
From the article:
" "For just $32 million a year, Energy Star helps American families save over $40 billion in annual energy costs."

The carbon energy industry is extremely Pro-Trump so this is a way of paying back his followers.

Repealing Energy Star is functionally a tax on consumers.
Instead of government spending $32M and consumers see at $40B saving, government spends $0 and consumers pay an extra $40B.

People whose energy bills go up will.

Just another way this administration is ensuring higher prices and upward movement of wealth.

He is killing it because he is destroying everything he is told is "woke".

That's all the reason he needs.

Actually he doesn't have a reason. The heritage foundation wants it destroyed, so it will be destroyed and they kept his criminal traitor ass out of jail for J6 and stolen documents cases so he owes them his freedom and life. He is just content to sign whatever they tell him to sign, fall asleep during press conferences where he is not talking and take a four day golfing weekend every single week.

Maybe he thinks people want to spend more money paying for their utilities.

Hell, I bet MAGAts will think of some reason why technological advancements are too progressive.

"If the Amish don't need it, why do we?"
-MAGA motto.
