The arrests came after a similar operation in Istanbul earlier this year that saw the arrest of its mayor Ekrem Imamoglu, the principal political rival of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

OK, I have two questions ...
1) is this a look into the future of how Pres Trump treats his political opponents?
--- and ---
2) The coastal city is seen as a bastion of Turkey's political opposition --- can you say Los Angeles?

Hi Lamplighter: Izmir is a secular stronghold in Turkiye, so these arrests do not surprise me. When walking around the covered bazaar in Istanbul (Kapili Carsi), few Kemal Ataturk items are sold openly under the AK regime of Recep Tayyip Erdogan. But apparently souvenirs, flags, and plates with Ataturk's visage may be bought openly in Izmir, to Erdogan's dismay. imageio.forbes.com

It's exactly what the last administration attempted to do with Donald Trump, who was actually the leading candidate, running against an incompetent woman and half of a man.

"It's exactly what the last administration attempted to do with Donald Trump"
Since you are talking about Lawfare, how about if you point to any one of Trumps 91 indictments which you or I could do without any fear of legal repercussions.
And if you can't, at least have the nads to admit as much.

You got nothing but lies.
You're just as irrelevant as the rest of the deplorable Trumping MAGAts who lie in order to have a point.

Nonsense, of course.
But to the extent that you sincerely believe that, I expect you to be on the front lines fighting for your neighbors when Trump comes for them.

Obviously LHT assumes that all the Trumpers who testified to his Coup Crimes were actually Dem Crisis Actors.... as he has never come up with why Trump's own DOJ lawyers would refuse to sign the letter to States saying they could just mark out Biden's name on the Certified Ballots and replace it with Trump's... and threatened to resign en masse.
Or all the other Trumpers who also testified to his crimes; because they never happened in the Trump World Cult.

All of Trumps indictments came from Grand Juries. If you really believe Biden had so much power that he could manipulate a Grand Jury, you're mentally ill. Seek help.
I bet you're also just fine with Laura Loomer saying sick crap like: "Alligator lives matter. The good news is, alligators are guaranteed at least 65 million meals if we get started now."

@#18 ... The ICE budget was increased enough in the Big Fascist Bill to do just that. ...
Likely because Pres trump likes this aspect of ICE...
