Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

From the ashes of Elon Musk's decision to fire the whole Supercharger team last year, a new company has risen: Hubber, which will take its founders' expertise at setting up Tesla Superchargers and apply that to addressing the lack of high-speed urban charging for taxis and other commercial vehicles.

As we said at the time, firing the whole Supercharger team was a dumb decision. It was immediately obvious to everyone in the industry that it was a dumb decision, and Tesla did eventually relent and rehire some of the fired workers, but the damage was done - and not just for the charging team, but morale was made low throughout the organization.

Remind us again how many charging stations Biden and Co. were supposed to create with all that money in the Build Back Better bill?

And since I know you wouldn't touch that with ten foot pole with a Trumpy flag on it let me help you.

A Washington Post analysis indicates that federal funding to Elon musk's companies amounts to at least $38 billion over two decades, with nearly two-thirds of that total, around $25 billion, provided in the last five years.

In 2024, federal and local government support reached a high of at least $6.3 billion.

The only person who's ever threatened to cut it is Trump.

Every political cycle, someone promises to slash "waste, fraud, and abuse" from government spending.

Damn, lots of posts illustrating my point today. Neither party can be better than the other. They have to just call each other out for their stupidity but ignoring their own.

But, regarding the actual topic, I LOVE seeing Capitalism at work making our lives better.

Yeah, and when someone actually does it, liberals get mad and try to stop it at all costs. Terrible precedent.

You lie to yourself for peace of mind. That's an unhealthy way to live.

The only person to slash EV subsidies is Trump. The other carmakers are no longer forced to give Tesla money to buy their environmental compliance credits. Tesla's financial outlook is now abysmal.

The only person to threaten SpaceX? Also Trump.

If you are against all that gubment cheese that Musk farmed, you're against environmental subsidies and reusable rockets. That's the cheese he's eating.

"environmental subsidies"

For the cars that produce more particulate emissions.

It's not really subsidizing "the environment."

But it is an easy sell.
