WASHINGTON, Sept 9 (Reuters) - The U.S. economy likely created 911,000 fewer jobs in the 12 months through March than previously estimated, the government said on Tuesday, suggesting that job growth was already stalling before President Donald Trump's aggressive tariffs on imports.

The monthly employment report is based on data derived from the Current Employment Statistics (CES) program, which surveys about 121,000 businesses and government agencies, representing about 631,000 individual worksites. The QCEW data is derived from reports by employers to the state unemployment insurance programs, and represents about 95% of total employment.

Trump has nominated E.J. Antoni to replace McEntarfer. Antoni, who has penned opinion pieces critical of the BLS and even suggested suspending the monthly employment report, is viewed as unqualified by economists across the political spectrum.

I wonder whose responsibility it is to fix this?

Maybe the man who bragged about fixing it?

The man who is making it worse?

Trump is crying that the revision was done to make him look bad. Funny thing is when a similar Q1 revision was done last year he claimed that it was done to help Biden and proved that BLS was trying to help Biden.
Trump is a pathetic crybaby loser and he knows it is true which is why he is always playing the victim.

Don't forget to revise the Q1 26 down 8,500 American jobs for the Hyundai plant that won't be created because Trump arrested and deported the South Koreans building the factory!

You can't possibly be this stupid - can you? The revision WAS TO BIDEN'S NUMBERS. This has NOTHING to do with Trump. This was the Democrats cooking the books in a lead up to the election when the reality is that the US entered a recession in Q2'24.

Trump's policies are working - illegals are self-deporting and it will make the BLS numbers look like the jobs numbers are declining - they ARE NOT. This is the illegals using stolen identities that are leaving or being fired now over fear of actual enforcement.

The number that matters FOR US CITIZENS is the NATIVE BORN employment - and it is still rocketing along with wage gains outpacing inflation.

I am on a couple month vacation so I don't want to waste my time kicking your teeth in today. Maybe when I return at the end of September I will resume my role of Asskicker in Chief for this site.
