Architect: What do you mean, you want the walls to be gold clad?

Pres Trump: Just what I said.

Architect: That's just gross. I'm outta here.

The disagreement: Trump wanted the ballroom BIGGER than the White House.

Trump has yet to settle on his Speer.

Should this paean to Diaperman actually be constructed, I would like to suggest a president in the future might consider tearing the rococo edifice down, and replace it with a reflecting pool to give pause to the next crass, moneybag-laden doofus that inexplicablyfinagles his way into the Presidency.

HAs everyone forgotten Trump's m.o. for wiggling out of paying his construction bills?

He's well known for driving businesses into bankruptcy trying to collect their fee.

My guess is architect #1 isn't going to get paid. And probably architect #2 either after Trump picks a fight with him.

After the International Hotel scam in D.C., I thought contractors had learned a lesson. GET YOUR MONEY UP FRONT.

When and if completed, according to current (ever fluctuating) "plans," the Donald J. Trump White House Monument to Monumental Wretched Taste & Money Laundry Annex is slated to be about twice as big as the White House. And that's the minimum.

Let that sink in.

"slated to be about twice as big as the White House. And that's the minimum."

And why not? Trump doesn't plan to pay to pay for it anyway. He'll fabricate some complaint and call the construction "poor" and then badmouth the contractor.

You'd think the business community in D.C. would be aware of Trump's scams by now.

How and why people get themselves into "deals" with Trump remains a bit of a mystery for me, even now.

I mean, I understand the self-interest angle, whether it's the promise of money, publicity, access, whatever. But self-interest also includes trying to anticipate consequences, certainly narrow and personal (although one might hope for more).

And Trump has a long history of effing over virtually everybody who bumps into his wobbly orbit.

So, yeah, you'd think.

Sometimes it's just the excitement as in "WOW, the President of the United States picked ME"

As I always say, "Too late comes sooner than you think."

I suspect, as usual, the donor money to pay for this monstrosity will end up in Trump's pocket, one way or the other.

Pro tip to the new architect to the royal court: don't update your resume and LinkedIn profile just yet ...
