They have the world's largest oil reserves. That's really all you need to know. Invading for access to oil is what the US does. The minerals definitely sweeten the deal.

Project 2025 goal was to increase the US military strength to implement right wing agenda in the western hemisphere.

Venezuela is a prime target.
