The U.S. Coast Guard has allowed a new workplace harassment policy to take effect that downgrades the definition of swastikas and nooses from overt hate symbols to "potentially divisive" despite an uproar over the new language that forced the service's top officer to direct that both would remain prohibited.

True if everyone in the office is sporting white nationalist tattoos. Then a swastika wouldn't be divisive.

The swastika is no more of a hate symbol than the Star of David. Of all the stuff that one could spend political capital on to oppose in the current admin, this is a stupid hill to die on. Especially since they're still prohibited, along with other potentially divisive symbols, in the workplace.

People pick the strangest hills to build ovens on.

The Star of David Is a Hate Symbol.

Also a Supremacist symbol.

Both Suck.

Nazism in it's original incarnation is Extinct.

Zionism is all too Alive, and Killing innocents everyday.

But don't say that out Loud.

Big Brother might hear you...

6. "The Star of David Is a Hate Symbol."

Judaism does not equal Israel, and vice versa.

The Star of David is a Swastika backwards! - Sentinel

The swastika became a worldwide hate symbol in the 1930s and 40s after it was used by Hitler's Nazis.

That's history, and it's not going to change. Neither will the fact that it was previously not a hate symbol.... which matters not as much in recent contexts.

Adolph had some flaws, but he designed a cool flag. Like his speeches... don't understand them, but you get the point.

"Judaism does not equal Israel, and vice versa."

Exactly my point. People who equate all swastikas with Nazi Germany are just as pig ignorant as those who equate the Star of David with the Israeli flag, or all Christians with the Spanish Inquisition, or all Muslims with Islamic extremists, etc.

One can safely assume that most people in the world will equate a swastika to Nazi Germany before they do older origins, and usually they will be correct concerning modern references.

Now, I know that many years ago you thought it was clever to note here that not everyone knows it's origins and other uses, other than yourself... which many people here did already know... but it got REALLY boring to read this sort of self-congratulations after the first decade or so.

You've been educated many times about how the symbol continued to be used by many millions of people of different faiths around the world. You're just wallowing in your pig ignorance and implicitly advocating for the ethnic cleansing of any group that doesn't bow down to the misappropriation of their symbol. Hitler would have been proud of useful idiots like you.

- used by many millions of people of different faiths around the world.

Who are not 'most people', as I said.

And you pretending that most people here don't know that, 'millions of people of different faiths around the world' also use this symbol... is just more laughable hubris from you.

"Who are not 'most people', as I said."

You're using the exact same logic that Hitler did when he tried to eliminate what "most people" in his society knew were "bad" and purge anyone who didn't agree. Your position is repugnant is indefensible.

You might as just come out say you want to expel all Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs, and any other ethnic group that doesn't assimilate enough to your satisfaction

I'm purging no one... your comparison is silly. I noted a FACT about what most people think of first when they see a certain symbol in regards to modern references.

Sad.

I was going to offer you a shovel, but I see that you have a pretty funny one already.

How 'bout this, I'll tell you how brilliant you are for constantly pointing out something that already well-understood by most of us here, and you can just nod your head in agreement.
