Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Wednesday, December 17, 2025

Speculation and anticipation have gripped the nation's premier law enforcement agency over the future of one of its top leaders, FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino. Bongino has quietly told confidants he plans to formally leave his job early in the new year and will not be returning to headquarters to work this month, according to eight people briefed on his account. Bongino told his team and some senior FBI officials that he tentatively planned to announce his departure on Dec. 19, according to four people.

Bugsy Patel's clown show continues.

"Bongino has drawn disdain and ridicule from a wide swath of FBI agents. The bureau personnel generally lean conservative in their political viewpoints but also includes some progressives. But they tend to agree that Bongino is out of his depth as a leader of the bureau, multiple sources told MS NOW.

"Agents are counting down the days," one law enforcement source said of agents looking forward to Bongino's departure."

What a strange article. Bondgino is not and never has been "progressive" in any way whatsoever, and the agency should know that distinction.

There are no progressives in the FBI. MSN is painting this as a political resignation because of "progressive".

Didn't they just designate "progressive" as "terrorist"?

Imo, Bondgino realized the crowd he's poking around with, their ploy exposed as the Charlie Kirk "investigation" is observably pretend.

If not Patel, Bondgino wouldn't be missed either.

Speculation and anticipation have gripped the nation's once-premier law enforcement agency over the future of FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino, the vastly underqualified rightwing sycophant who helped demoralize and debilitate the agency.

The man could have quit when it became clear to him that Trump was not going to release the Epstein files, as he threatened to do.

That may have been his last chance to do something decent in this life.

Bongino recently confessed to being a professional liar.

"I was paid in the past...for my opinions. And one day I will be back in that space. That's not what I'm paid for now. I'm paid to be your deputy director, and we base investigations on facts."

It should raise concerns in the mind of any rational person that a job of such importance at the FBI was ever given to a professional liar in the first place. Unfortunately GOP congressional leadership will just look the other way when Trump replaces with another untrustworthy political hack.
