OK: Man Kills Neighbor While Shooting at Red Bull Can

Cody Adams was conducting target practice against a can of Red Bull on his property with a .45 Glock pistol that he bought for himself on Christmas. The victim, Sandra Phelps (74), who lived less than half a mile away from the idiot, was sitting on a porch with a child in her left arm; another child was in a stroller in front of her when she was shot.

Phelps was reportedly shot in the right arm before the bullet entered her chest. Adams was released on bail after posting a $100,000 bond Friday. The miscreant is scheduled to appear in court on 25 Feb and is facing at least four years in prison should he be convicted.

In an average year, 802 people die and 1,196 are wounded by firearms in Oklahoma, which has the 15th-highest rate of gun violence in the US. Nationally, every eleven minutes someone in the US is killed by a firearm, either by an assailant, self-inflicted wound, or by accident.

An arrest is merely an accusation. All defendants, regardless of their stupidity, are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
