This is such BS.
I was in grad school in the 2010s and those doors were not closed.

Right wing voices and the mainstream media (but I repeat myself) have been pitching "men not going to college" for a generation.
Mike Rowe's Dirty Jobs for example.
The entire narrative arc of Rush Limbaugh's radio show.
Every time we glorify and glamorize the police and the military, both manly male dominated fields.

Going to college went from being something people aspire to achieve, to something most other (especially right-wing) people look down upon. It became an Us vs Them.

Kinda like being a billionaire.

Because what's become pretty evident is it's the right-wing billionaires and the right-wing politicians the back, who say college is the enemy.
