Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

On the campaign trail, President Trump promised to cut Americans' energy bills in half -- cheaper gasoline, cheaper electricity. He also said he'd "unleash" American energy production, often repeating the catchphrase "Drill, baby, drill."

Your energy bills are up because Donald Trump is determined to keep them that way. He promised to cut energy costs by 50%, but here we are a year later, and they are up 13%, all because he's dead set on dismantling America's energy independence.

More from the article ...

... One year in, the price of gasoline is down about 10%. But the U.S. oil industry is definitely not drilling, baby, drilling.

The price of oil is just too low to justify more of it -- although within the last year, companies have won major lobbying victories that soothe that sting.

Meanwhile, electricity costs are rising and expected to rise more. ...

The U.S. benchmark price for oil is down about 20% from where it was a year ago, and the average retail gasoline price " the price drivers pay at the pump -- is down nearly 10%. ...

Invading Greenland will reduce our energy bills, provided some simple bullying of Denmark doesn't do it first.

imo, if Pres Trump is successful in getting data centers to pay for the additional costs they cause on our utility bills, then it might be the first thing Pres Trum has done that I agree with.

Trump unveils plan to shift power costs to AI data centers
www.washingtonexaminer.com

... Trump administration officials and a bipartisan group of governors announced a plan Friday to tackle high electricity prices by essentially having giant technology companies pay for the construction of new power supplies in the area managed by the largest United States grid operator. ...

Will he follow through and actually accomplish that?

Time will tell.

I'll judge the success of his plan by how much my electricity bill drops ...

Killing all those renewable energy projects was genius.

It's almost like he lied to you.

People are stupid and desperate enough to believe his lies.

His plan to reduce energy prices was:

Trump: I will cut energy prices in half!

Reporter: How?

Trump: You're a stupid low talent hack and your network is a joke.

I've been watching analyses by Mr Global who is apparently an oil and gas expert with multiple oil and gas companies started and sold under his belt.

It's been eye opening just how little press the fumbles, f*&^ ups and stupidity of Trump during his first and current administration have gotten.

It basically sounds like incompetence and idiocy on just about any facet you can name for oil and gas. Selling LNG to Europe while we require increasingly higher production rates here to keep power generation sufficient for demand, killing alternative energy projects to further spike LNG demand, Trump screwing up policy with OPEC leading to the intentional multi-year suppression of oil prices by OPEC to kill the US oil and gas industry, the fact that Biden's sales of oil from the SPR were already approved under Trump and Biden simply took multiple sales and combined them into one single release...but the press let the GOP's narrative on all of those run amok unchallenged.

And those are just the points I can remember off the top of my head. Forget about why Venezuela isn't going to be the boon Trump says it will be and how that massively undercuts Trump's justifications for it.
