"Adding two exclamation points, Ingraham quoted from the article in her caption to write,

"Mr. Trump and Xi Jinping are reportedly considering a deal to allow China to invest $1 trillion in the U.S. largely to build factories on American soil.' Trump on verge of making massive error " against aides' advice: report."

The linked article by Raw Story's Tom Boggioni reported that Trump was "giving serious consideration to allowing China to make a massive investment in the U.S. " against the advice of some of his closest advisors," heavily drawing from a column that conservative economist Oren Cass had written for The New York Times.

That deal would be "an unforced error of world-historic proportions," wrote Cass, and Boggioni added a comment that such a deal would be "undermin[ing] the very trade agenda [Trump] championed."

;;

"Trump was operating with a "fundamental misunderstanding of the relationship" between the U.S. and China, wrote Boggioni, because of how the Chinese Communist Party " can offer virtually unlimited financial support and access to a virtually unlimited labor pool."

Boggioni cited Cass's calculations that a "trillion-dollar infusion of Chinese capital would exceed the total direct investment in the United States made by any other country since the Declaration of Independence," and "even a fraction of that amount would devastate what remains of American economic defenses, weakening national security and supply-chain resilience while handing the Chinese Communist Party a powerful tool to subvert U.S. markets."

Donnie must of really liked all that Chinese junk he bought from them to scam his Cult with.

Trump got clowned (as expected) and he tucked tail and ran before the final press conference of the "summit."

Xi then tea bagged him publicly by shutting the exports on tech materials/resources.

Anyone who voted for that bloated pile of s*&^ is an idiot.

@#6 ... Trump got clowned (as expected) and he tucked tail and ran before the final press conference of the "summit." ...

Pres Trump went into the summit looking for, as he usually does when he enters negotiations, a quick win.

Pres Xi went into the summit looking for, as he usually does when he enters such negotiations, a long-term strategic win.

Pres Trump effectively gave up Taiwan to Pres Xi, hoping for the quick win.

Beyond the pomp and pageantry, Xi Jinping sent a message to Donald Trump
www.csmonitor.com

... In perhaps the most telling moment of their two-day summit, Chinese leader Xi Jinping looked U.S. President Donald Trump in the eye and told him, not so subtly, that China is eclipsing the United States as the world's leading power.

"The world has reached a crossroads," Mr. Xi said, addressing Mr. Trump across a long table and a centerpiece of pink and white flowers, as senior Chinese and American officials looked on.

"Can the U.S. and China overcome the so-called Thucydides Trap' and create a new paradigm for great power relations?" Mr. Xi asked, with a faint smile. He was referring to the 5th-century Greek historian Thucydides, who described how the rise of city-state Athens alarmed the established power, Sparta, making the Peloponnesian War inevitable.

In less than three minutes of carefully crafted opening remarks to Mr. Trump at their first meeting on Thursday in Beijing's Great Hall of the People, Mr. Xi presented the American president with a confident statement of China's inevitable ascent, challenged him to handle it without conflict, and laid out Beijing's new framework for how to do just that.

Mr. Xi's message to Mr. Trump was clear: "You're the declining power, we are the rising power. ... So the question for you is whether you're going to accept our rise and not resist," says Nadge Rolland, distinguished fellow in China Studies at the National Bureau of Asian Research, a U.S. think tank. "All of that is said with a ... red-carpet treatment, but these are very brutal assessments of the situation, and they are veiled threats as well." ...

Xi Jinping sent a message...

If Xi personally greets Vladimir Putin at the Beijing airport instead of sending a flunky, it's gonna be fuuuuuuny!

The whole planet did. I doubt Xi will meet Putin at the airport but it would be really funny if he did.

Lewzer would blow a gasket.

If we erred, you erred on the side of me getting rich, and that can't really be an error, can it?

@#13

Yeah, that is likely to happen, considering the billionaires that Pres Trump has chosen to suck up to him in his Cabinet, and the explicit grift that Pres Trump seems to have been doing...
