Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

Getting back to the star of the show, on Monday morning Trump turned his attention to the July 4th celebrations centered around America's 250th anniversary.

And by doing so, he finally admitted the truth. Here is what he said on Truth Social yesterday.

"On July 4th at the Lincoln Memorial and Washington Monument in beautiful and safe Washington DC, we are going to host the most spectacular Trump rally of them all, a tribute to America."

And I'm going to stop reading it right there because that is the key.

Just like what happened on his birthday, everything surrounding July 4th is a celebration of Donald J. Trump.

It's being packaged as if it's a celebration of America, but underneath that packaging, you'll see the face of Donald J. Trump.

And I've spoken about this many times before.

This whole Trump is America and America is Trump idea is not only something that's been growing and growing for many years now in the Trump administration, but a very similar phrase was front and center of a totalitarian ideology from less than a century ago.

"In 1934, Rudolph Hess uttered the famous words, "Hitler is Germany and Germany is Hitler."

Rudolph Hess was a longstanding personal aid to Adolf Hitler and deputy party leader of the Nazi party until 1941. He was the Nazi deputy fuhrer.

Hess's statement in 1934 that Hitler is Germany and Germany is Hitler encapsulated the totalitarian ideology of the Third Reich.

It was used as a propaganda tool intended to deify Hitler as the literal embodiment of the German nation and its destiny.

It was used to demand unconditional loyalty to condition the public to believe that loyalty to Hitler equated to patriotism.

And it was intended to erode democracy to justify the dismantling of the Weimar Republic's democratic institutions in favor of what was called the leader principle where Hitler's will was law.

For everyone who is getting tired of the comparisons of Trump to Hitler, or who believe that what happened in 1930s Germany cannot happen here, I've got news for you.

Not only can it happen, but it is happening right now under Donald J. Trump."

As JD Vance once said, Trump is America's Hitler.

Hitler fought in and lost a brutal war that scarred or took the lives of millions like him. Trump didn't. Hitler had plenty of things to be angry and upset about. Trump never really had anything to be really upset or angry about, up until the time he decided to run for high office.

Trump isn't America's Hitler. Trump is simply America's hollowed face mirrored in some eternal, fetid reflecting pool, lasciviously staring back at itself.

"And as the Demon made an end of his story, he fell back within the cavity of the tomb and laughed. And the lynx which dwelleth forever in the tomb, came out therefrom, and lay down at the feet of the Demon, and looked at him steadily in the face."
