The rot of the Dixie fixation for the GOP marked Nixon's route to the WH in 1968; Reagan really went to town with the yahoos. It's a rush to court the smug, hateful and most easily played, of which Dixie and those who "share the culture" garner and continue to hold so many dubious trophies.
