New Bill Would Restrict SNAP Benefits in 9 States

A new bill, introduced by Rep. Brandon Gill (R-Texas), would eliminate that option. The bill would eliminate SNAP's Restaurant Meals Program (RMP), which states can opt in to. The program is meant to help people who can't easily cook, or don't have permanent housing, get access to food.

Joni Ernst: "I have a McSCUSE ME Act which would disallow those SNAP benefits being used at fast food restaurants. We want to make sure that those hungry families, those food insecure families actually are receiving benefits, but we want them to really use those dollars on nutrient-rich foods."

The punishment is the point... how dare people not be able to feed their family on $7.25 an hour!

If that was good enough in 2009, it's good enough today!

If a citizen that poor person needing food stamps owns America, from sea to sea, from Canadian border to Mexican. They own the highways, and in states like Oregon where there are a lot of national forests, they own the trees..and yet there is no dividend for those who own America, and they cannot even have something to eat. No such thing as a good Republican in this time of Trump.

That's not even the point of the article. It's about removing restaurant meals from the program.

Also, noteworthy:

"The second Trump administration has placed increasing focus on what types of food SNAP dollars can and can't purchase as part of its push to "Make America Healthy Again." Twenty-three states had been granted waivers to bar SNAP recipients from spending the federal dollars on things like soda, energy drinks and candy before a judge struck down the new restrictions in June."

And an extra $60 dollars to each family to be spent only on fruit and vegetables.
