You don't lower poverty by only paying poverty wages. You only keep folks IN the poverty /wage /salary trap. It actually has a name.. they call it the "golden handcuffs".

That seems to be a pretty correct interpretation.

Everything that Pres Trump does seems to be, in his opinion, the best and greatest of all that has been done before him.

So now, Pres Trump is also crowing about the poverty his administration has rained upon Americans.

You do understand the US can't compare numbers to any other country, nor can any country compare to US, because they all use different metrics.
Not even PPP dollars are used.

The point of the poverty number is to complain about poverty and how NGO's need more money to "fix it".

Trump says it goes down, Biden claims it goes up, guess who the NGO's work for?

Yeah, that's the problem

The inflation caused by Pres Trump's tariffs and war of choice in Iran are causing price increases that outstrip the rate of increases of wages.

So, the bottom line is that while workers may be getting pay increases, the value of those dollars they receive is diminishing more quickly than the rate that their wages are increasing.

And the crazy current price of diesel has yet to make its way to the grocery store shelves.

Yeah, Pres Trump's Big Beautiful Bill purposefully seems to have delayed some major cuts until after the 2026 election.

Almost as if the GOP Congress knew those cuts would not be A Good Thing for the voters.
