Speaking at a rally in Daytona Beach, Florida on Friday night, Trump turned his attention north to Michigan, where El-Sayed, a former public health official, is squaring off against Republican former Rep. Mike Rogers, who has claimed that El-Sayed, who would be the first Muslim to serve in the Senate, is a "risk to our national security." Trump has even called the Democrat a "jihadist." During the rally, Trump shouted out people in the audience wearing shirts reading "Blacks for Trump." "Blacks for Trump, you ought to vote for Mike Rogers," the president said before baselessly claiming El-Sayed "does not like" Jewish or Black people. "Not that other guy, because he doesn't like Jewish people and he doesn't like Black people. I'm talking about Abdul. Abdul is not a big fan of Jewish people, and he's not a big fan of Black people. And I hope you're going to vote against him and send him back to where he came from." |
