Bruno Kahl, President of Germany's Federal Intelligence Service (BND), stated that Russia is preparing to test the credibility of NATO's Article V, adding that German intelligence has concrete evidence of the Kremlin's preparations for potential aggression against the Alliance. The BND chief emphasized that Moscow no longer believes in the reliability of NATO's collective defence system " particularly Article V of the North Atlantic Treaty, which guarantees a joint response in the event of an attack on a member state. "We are very sure, and we have intelligence evidence to back this up, that [Russia's full-scale invasion of] Ukraine is only one step on Russia's path towards the West." German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius has issued similar warnings in the past, repeatedly stating that Germany must be "ready for war" by the end of this decade. Ukraine's intelligence chief publicly echoed the same analysis. read more

In this letter written to DNI Tulsi Gabbard, senior Democratic lawmakers accused her of violating the law with personnel moves that threaten the independent oversight of the 18 intelligence agencies she oversees. In this letter, they provide new details of a standoff between Gabbard and her congressionally mandated inspector general. At stake is the fate of an office established by Congress in 2010 to provide independent oversight over what are now 18 US civilian and military intelligence agencies. Dotard Trumpf has frequently shown hostility toward inspectors general " he fired one of Johnson's predecessors during his first term in 2019 " and in Jan 2025 he fired most inspectors general at federal Cabinet agencies.
During a speech at Fort Bragg, N.C., Donald Trump said that he would restore the names of all US Army bases that were named for treasonous Confederate generals but were ordered changed by Congress in the waning days of his first term. His move skirts the law mandating the removal of Confederate symbols from the military through the same maneuver used to restore the name of Fort Bragg, which was briefly renamed Fort Liberty. The US Army stated it would "take immediate action" to restore the old names, but the base names would instead honor other American soldiers with similar names and initials. For example, Fort Eisenhower in Georgia, honoring the late president, would revert to the name Fort Gordon, the Confederate slave owner and suspected KKK member. This time around, however, the US Army said the base would instead honor MSG Gary Gordon, who fought in the Battle of Mogadishu in Somalia for which he was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor. read more
Justin Anthony Banta (38), an IT specialist with the Justice Department, secretly spiked his pregnant girlfriend's drink with "Plan C" abortion drugs to induce a miscarriage without her knowledge. Later that same day Banta allegedly spiked her coffee at a diner. The following day the woman went to the emergency room with extreme bleeding and lost the pregnancy. The victim reported the incident to authorities and Banta was charged with capital murder in Parker County, TX. Abortion pills
Tangential granularity from the NYT about the new world order:
New trade deals. Joint sanctions against Israel. Military agreements.
America's closest allies are increasingly turning to each other to advance their interests, deepening their ties as the Trumpf junta challenges them with tariffs and other measures that are upending trade, diplomacy, and defense.
Concerned by shifting US priorities under Dotard Trumpf, some of America's traditional partners on the world stage have spent the turbulent months since Mr. Trumpf's January inauguration focusing on building up their direct relationships, flexing diplomatic muscles, and leaving the US aside. This emerging dynamic involves countries such as Britain, France, Canada, and Japan.

Thanks to Senator 'Moscow Mitch' McConnell (R-KY), the GOP, Dotard Trumpf, and the NRA, every eleven minutes an assailant kills someone with an easily accessible firearm in America. The US will soon reach 50,000 KIA per annum under the Trumpf junta; the US is right now averaging 47,000 gun deaths per year, like a warzone. Total US military deaths in Korea (1950-53): 36,574. studyfinds.org
In 1963, Brian Wilson thought this was the 'perfect' song and he played it over hundred times in a row on his turntable after he bought the single. The drummer made a mistake with the song, but the resulting syncopation worked liked a charm, so the producer kept it. One of my friends is a Soviet-trained pianist with perfect pitch who effortlessly plays Chopin's Fantasie Impromptu. I used to ask her to help me with arrangements years ago. One evening I asked "D" for her expert opinion on this song and "Voila!" She, like Brian Wilson, thoroughly enjoyed it as well. This is in the key of E major: www.youtube.com

#3: Hi Lamplighter-- thanks for the info. And here is an update on Netanyahu's criminal corruption trial: www.jpost.com
Bibi could be the first of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse toppled off his (white) steed; the remaining three being Dotard Trumpf atop the Pale Horse, Vladimir Putin astride the Red Horse, and Felon Musk atop the Black Horse. In this tontine, youth and fortune ensures Musk will be the last malefactor to fall. But there is always the possibility of a plane crash or a high-yield anti-personnel hand grenade tossed Felon's way.
#2: Hi Doc. Indeed, war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu put a target on the back of every Jew in the world: Ashkenazi, Sephardic, atheist, pro-peace, or Islamophobic etc etc.

This prosecution reminds me of the Texas deputy who used thousands of surveillance cameras to track down a young woman who sought reproductive care. Justin Anthony Banta shouldn't have done what he is accused of, but to be charged with capital murder? Sidenote: Colombia is still dealing with internal strife. At least four people were killed as rebel groups detonated bombs near police stations in the city of Cali and the neighboring Cauca province. The attacks were blamed on the FARC-EMC, a group led by former members of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) who broke away from the group after it signed a peace deal with the government in 2016. "Whiskey Pete" Hegseth Can't Explain Why Troop Deployment Is Legal
"Defense Secretary Pete Hogsbreath on Wednesday insisted the Pentagon's deployment of troops to Los Angeles was lawful. He just couldn't cite the law he was following. The sycophantic dipsomaniac who is head of the DOD clashed with several lawmakers at a Senate budget hearing as he sought to defend President Dotard Trumpf's decision to send thousands of troops, including 700 active-duty Marines, to California in response to mass deportation protests."
