Gov. Ron DeSantis' administration canceled a transgender activist's driver's license after the popular TikToker publicly posted about changing the stated gender on their ID. James Rose, a non-binary content creator who uses they and she pronouns, posted a video in December about changing the gender on their license from male to female. Rose talked about using a "loophole" in the process to replace lost licenses. In a letter dated Monday, the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles told Rose that it had canceled their license and replaced it with one that listed their gender as male. "My God, Ron DeSantis would be screaming right now if he knew about this," Rose said in the video, which appears to be now removed from their social media pages. "This was not easy, we're not even supposed to be able to do this in this state."

A fire was burning out of control Tuesday in the Pacific Palisades, threatening numerous homes and forcing thousands to evacuate, amid a potentially "life-threatening and destructive" windstorm. Most of the Pacific Palisades was under an evacuation order, as residents and firefighters fought traffic jams in some areas trying to escape the flames. The blaze broke out around 10:30 a.m. near Piedra Morada Drive and was being pushed by intense wind gusts that officials had warned could quickly spread a wildfire. "It's bad. It's like an inferno," said Lori Libonati, who lives in the Pacific Palisades and saw the fire start to burn Tuesday morning before evacuating. "We just saw the flames." read more
Every year, millions of dollars in dues paid by rank-and-file union members are collected by labor organizations and passed off to the family members of union bosses in the form of lucrative salaries, a Washington Examiner review of public records has found. Union bosses regularly employ close family relatives, such as children and spouses, in high-paying roles within their unions. Some of these roles pay hundreds of thousands of dollars a year. While union leadership has splurged on handsome salaries for their family members, and political expenditures intended to boost the Democratic Party, private union membership has continued its downward trend in recent years. "This is not even a trend, it's an ongoing scandal," National Right to Work President Mark Mix told the Washington Examiner. "There are reports going back to the early days of labor unions about this type of nepotism."
A young girl is sparking debate online after she got a permanent tattoo at age 9. According to the tattoo artist, the girl got an American flag tattoo on her arm at Black Onyx Empire Tattoo in Yuma, Arizona when she was 9, and she recently came in for a touch up at age 10. She was accompanied by her parents. An Instagram video posted by the tattoo artist on Thursday shows the girl getting tattooed at the shop. The artist explained that the girl originally wanted a tattoo of Donald Trump on her neck, but that he "convinced her to do a more patriotic tattoo." He also said he told the child that if she still wanted the Trump tattoo a year later that she should get it, but that she should take time to think about it. A year later, now 10 years old, the girl came back for a touch-up of the American flag tattoo. The artist said she also changed her mind about wanting the Trump portrait. read more
