President Vladimir Putin said Russia would achieve its strategic goals in Ukraine as he insisted the country was united behind his war. "Truth and justice are on our side," Putin said Friday at the May 9 Victory Day military parade marking the 80th anniversary of the defeat of Nazi Germany in World War II. "The entire country, society, and people support the participants" of the war in Ukraine, and "that strength of spirit has always brought us only victory". Russia "will always rely on our unity in military and peaceful affairs, in achieving strategic goals, in solving tasks in the name of Russia, its greatness and prosperity," Putin told thousands of troops assembled on Moscow's Red Square.

Juan Gabriel Gonzalez (22) and Dereck Nathan Lopez (21) of South Gate, CA, are facing multiple federal counts for robbing casino winners in California. The pair entered local casinos using fake names, hunting gamers who either won or were close to winning large amounts in gaming chips. The pair, along with unnamed co-conspirators, then tracked the winners to their vehicles and ambushed them on nearby highways. They would allegedly brandish firearms, bust windows, and demand the cash or chips before fleeing the scene. These predators targeted at least 15 victims from amongst the scores of Native American-operated casinos in the Golden State. An indictment contains allegations that a defendant has committed a crime. Every defendant is presumed to be innocent until and unless proven guilty in court. If convicted of all charges, each defendant would face a statutory maximum sentence of life in federal prison. Read more

MSNBC's Jen Psaki struggled to gain traction on Wednesday night, just her second show in a new primetime slot. Psaki recently took over the network's high-profile 9 p.m. ET timeslot from Tuesday through Friday, following the return of The Rachel Maddow Show to its once-a-week Monday schedule. Maddow had resumed a five-night format temporarily during President Donald Trump's first 100 days back in office. A former Biden administration press secretary, Psaki previously hosted Inside on Sundays and Mondays. She now anchors "The Briefing" in the network's key primetime slot, but by any measure, she's tanking. On Tuesday, Jen Psaki's The Briefing premiered with 1.2 million viewers, including 139,000 in the key advertising demographic of adults aged 25-54. However, by Wednesday, viewership had dropped sharply, falling to just over one million total viewers and only 65,000 in the coveted demo, Fox News reported. Read more

President Donald Trump's fight against the Houthis never dealt a crippling blow to the militant group, but it has cost America more than $1 billion since March, including the thousands of bombs and missiles used in strikes, along with seven drones shot down and two fighter jets that sank, according to two U.S. officials briefed on the cost.
After weeks of operations by the U.S., the Houthis seemed to still be able to strike outside Yemen, launching an attack that targeted Israel's main international airport just this week.

Not to mention, the truth that I never saw baseball players as aspirational"that far as I could tell, they failed to transcend their game, or even their teams, to become stars in the culture.

"Mohammed Aburidi (24, Palestinian) and Tareq Aburidi (19, Palestinian) with possessing firearms and ammunition as aliens admitted to the US on nonimmigrant visas. President Donald Trump said Thursday that he would pull his nomination of Ed Martin Jr. to be the top federal prosecutor for the nation's capital, bowing to bipartisan concerns about the conservative activist's modest legal experience, divisive politics and support for Jan. 6 rioters. Instead, the president said Martin will be tapped as an associate deputy attorney general and pardon attorney, putting him in the position of recommending pardons for a slew of defendants involved in the violent insurrection at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. When he returned to office in January, Trump granted sweeping pardons and commutations of all people charged with crimes in connection with the riot, or vowed to dismiss their cases.
