An American flag altered to include an image of a swastika was found in Rep. Dave Taylor's office. The flag was found inside Taylor's office in the Cannon Building in Washington, D.C., Tuesday afternoon, according to an office spokesperson. Taylor believes it is the result of "foul play or vandalism," the spokesperson said.
The LA County Department of Public Health has confirmed its first case of clade I mpox in an adult with no recent travel to regions where this virus is typically found. The individual was hospitalized and is now recovering at home. This is the second clade I mpox case in LA County and the second in the US without known travel to another country where clade I is typically found. The City of Long Beach, which has its own health department, also announced a separate clade I mpox case earlier this week. Public Health is collaborating closely with California DPH and the US CDC to investigate these mpox cases as swiftly and effectively as possible. A Texas man was arrested and charged after allegedly using TikTok to solicit others to murder Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents this month, according to federal prosecutors. Eduardo Aguilar, 23, of Dallas, was federally charged with transmitting in interstate or foreign commerce a communication containing a threat, the U.S. Attorney's Office in the Northern District of Texas said in a Thursday news release. The statement added that he was in the country illegally from Mexico. Aguilar was arrested after Dallas police reported to the FBI an Oct. 9 TikTok video he allegedly posted, according to the probable cause affidavit.
