Britney Spears has been arrested in California under suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs. The singer was detained by California Highway Patrol (CHP) at around 21:30 local time (05:30 GMT) on Wednesday. A representative for her told the BBC: "This was an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable." Spears was reported to authorities for driving her BMW "erratically at a high rate of speed" on a motorway, CHP said. She "showed signs of impairment" and submitted to a series of field sobriety tests after she was pulled over.


Episcopalian pastor Lisa Levy (48) of Hamden CT was arrested for allegedly abusing multiple rescue animals she adopted, leaving them with severe chemical burns, broken bones, skin lesions, and neurological issues, some of them dying from her cruelty.

Deputy US Marshals arrested 6 January insurrectionist Jonathan J. Munafo (36) in Richmond VA for absconding from court-ordered supervision in the Northern District of New York (NDNY). Munafo was one of ~1,500 miscreants pardoned by Donald Trump.

A federal judge has cleared the way for thousands of businesses to receive refunds for tariffs that the Supreme Court struck down last month. The US Court of International Trade on Wednesday ordered Customs and Border Protection to issue refunds for levies US President Donald Trump introduced last year under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA). "All importers of record whose entries were subject to IEEPA duties are entitled to the benefit" from the high court's ruling, Judge Richard Eaton wrote. Read more

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) faced a major legal setback as federal judges in New Jersey and Texas criticized the agency over prolonged detentions and repeated violations of court orders.


There has been another successful ditching of a plane on the Hudson River. This one is much smaller and only had two passengers but they ditched the plane at night 200 ft off the shore in a section of the Hudson that had active ice in it and they swam to shore in that condition.
