Good. All single use plastic should be phased out. Plastic recycling doesn't work - never has - and the plastic industry has known that for decades.

Most people can walk and chew gum at the same time.

I'm sorry you're not one of them.

Google 'trump wants better toilets'.

Heh, heh.

He admits he needs 10 to 15 flushes with current flushes.

Some of us don't like unnecessary garbage filling our landfills

A solution in search of a problem. Par for the course with Democrats.

Classified documents don't flush easily when mixed with KFC grease.

"Sorry, Your Paper Coffee Cup Is a Toxic Nightmare

Supposedly eco-friendly cups are still coated with a thin layer of plastic, which scientists have discovered can leach chemicals that harm living creatures.

The world goes through hundreds of billions of single-use coffee cups every year"and most aren't recycled. So major coffee chains' switch to paper cups is a good step, right? Not quite.

A recently published study shows that paper cups can be just as toxic as conventional plastic ones if they end up littered in our natural environment. Seemingly eco-friendly paper cups are coated with a thin layer of plastic to keep their contents from seeping into the paper, and this lining can emit toxic substances.

"There are chemicals leaching out of these materials," says lead author Bethanie Carney Almroth, an associate professor of environmental science at the University of Gothenburg in Sweden."

Of course, it IS true that Trump Cult is immune to disease, environmental hazards, and good sense, so the above information may not concern them.

If this results in more usage of those crappy wooden forks and spoons - count me out. Eating ice cream cups as a kid with the included wooden 'spoon' still gives me taste nightmares. I am willing to allow 'big plastic' to continue to turn the frogs and libturds gay with microplastics if it means I never have to taste a wooden spoon again.

#11 | Posted by Claudio at 2024-08-07 08:27 PM

Excellent, a little late, but Lord knows the fossil fuel sector protecting republicans would never suggest such a thing.

#12 | Posted by earthmuse at 2024-08-07 08:33 PM

@#11 ... Eating ice cream cups as a kid with the included wooden 'spoon' still gives me taste nightmares. ...

As a kid, I was able to learn how to eat the ice cream off the spoon without having to taste the spoon.

Were you not able to learn how to do that?

We know what you like to taste at the local truck stop, buddy.

Weird.

It's the straws, they have to get rid of straws. A ten year old computed that each year we throw away enough plastic straws to cover the state of Texas 300 feet deep in straws.

@#1 ... It's the straws, they have to get rid of straws. ...

No, the imaginary monster under your bed "they" of your comment is not wanting to get rid of straws.

So, what else yer got?

#16 | Posted by LampLighter at 2024-08-07 10:31 PM

40 years too late, but it's a start.

#17 | Posted by chuffy at 2024-08-07 10:38 PM

Well, hopefully he (and Dems) learned from his EV mandates to actually build the infrastructure first to support the alternative instead of just blindly making mandates. You won't win if you mandate people do something different but don't have the support structure in place to actually use them to near-effective levels as what you got rid of. I know to most people this is common sense, but in the political world common sense rarely translates.

The world will very likely become uninhabitable by 2050. So let's do nothing. Amiright?

Year after year is the hottest year on record
Exponentially increasing

You may very well live to experience the death of the human race!!

Yeehaw

Imagine if we started doing something 25 years ago

But we elect republicans

Despite their efforts reality is a thing and science can figure stuff out

Well at least rush Limbaugh is dead

#20 | Posted by truthhurts at 2024-08-08 12:14 PM

" You won't win ... "

No one wins if we keep electing republicans

Straws here, plastic sporks there
As if it's something more than just a slight inconvenience

The petroleum industry thanks you for your fervent unpaid devotion

I watched 30 seconds of that clown. Do you have a credible source. Didn't think so. Enjoy your imaginary extinction.

Happy extinction to you too!

Don't know when the collapse will occur. Only that it WILL occur if we don't change course.

Keep on whistling past the graveyard.

That's exactly how numerous civilizations collapsed in the past.

Unfortunately the next collapse will be global.

We are going to pump every gallon of oil out of the ground and it will end up as plastic or in the atmosphere. There's not a damn thing we can do about it. The oligarch's want us voluntarily and not so voluntarily to use less so they can use more. How many of you are willing to give up cheap reliable transportation so the elite can continue to fly on private jets?

#27 | Posted by visitor_ at 2024-08-09 12:01 PM

"There's not a damn thing we can do about it."

So you are choosing to fail. Nicely done.

Too bad so sad nothing can be done.

What you just said was probably very close to what the people of Rapa Nui thought when they cut down the last tree on the island.

They knew they were cutting down the last tree but they did it anyway.

And then their society collapsed into chaos war and poverty and cannibalism.

Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

The guy you refuse to watch had multiple sources for his information

You can reduce your usage of fossil fuels to zero and it might save enough for Klaus Schwab to fly his plane to Davos.

Visitard will never read the book by Jared Diamond that I posted. It's required reading in some college courses now.

It took me 25 hours or so. No way he could manage that.

#33 | Posted by donnerboy at 2024-08-09 12:57 PM

I did watch the later part of video. I'm not convinced,

#34 | Posted by visitor_ at 2024-08-09 01:01 PM

His video literally has dozens of peer reviewed studies. The theme of the video was people like you who ignore science

#35 | Posted by truthhurts at 2024-08-09 01:01 PM

@Donnerboy thanks for recommendation. I read it about seven years ago. I loaned it out and never got it back.

Re 36

So you can read!

You just can't learn.

Go ahead then. Cut the last tree on the island.

So Sad. Too bad. There is nothing we can do!!
