Trump Pushes GOP for a Government Shutdown

Donald Trump is pressuring Republicans to shut down the government at the end of this month if Congress doesn't pass a GOP-backed proposal to establish new election rules nationwide.

"Trump has called on Republicans in Congress to link funding the government with the SAVE Act, which would require proof of citizenship to vote " in a bid to target non-citizen voting, which is already illegal.

And House Republican leaders are considering adopting the strategy and picking a fight with Democrats."

Desperate Lewzers!

If the government shuts down, Trump loses the election and there will be a GOP bloodbath down ballot.

Trump has always been crazy. But it's obvious that thing is getting worse. It's more and more obvious that, if he loses in November, the man will make sure that there will be blood.

he's out of the country.

A bit of gristle bearing a coded reference to the Nero Decree must've bubbled up from old Orange Julius's gut and bounced around his thick skull before getting "the weave" treatment and dropping among the general pop, like a stream of -------- at the county fair.

Of course, he is. It's win win.

They pass the demagoguery voting bill nonsense and he gets to play tough on immigrants angle.

Shutdown happens he gets to point to the pain caused by it as a reason to elect him.

Sadly, then electorate is dumb enough for the latter to work.

That effing orange treasonous pig is just laying the ground work to declare he was robbed again in the election. Will he just die already?

#7 | Posted by Wildman62 at 2024-09-05 01:41 PM

Is it that time of year again already?

It's the reason for the season!

Great plan to help the economy and the people maga maroons!

"Republicans are the party that says government doesn't work, and then they get elected and prove it"

#8 | Posted by donnerboy at 2024-09-05 01:52 PM

I like it! Let the MAGAts shut down the government and remind voters right before the election of what they are supporting when they vote GOP / third party.

We need to do away with voting separately to fund programs which have already been voted into law. The mechanism to fund programs should be included in the laws which authorize the program, PERIOD! If we can't agree on how and when to fund something, then we shouldn't do it.

Chalk up this government shutdown threat in September to another Trump 'Hail Mary.' Republicans would get hammered in November. If they pass anything it will be an extension.

BTW, I vaguely recall another time when Trump thought shutting down the government would shut down the courthouses. Maybe he's as delusional now as he was then.

Trump is only interested in hurting this nation.

Unfortunately, millions of angry ignorant conservatives are also interested in hurting this nation.

They all make Putin proud.

Too bad the Republicans didn't pass the border bill or anything that they could actually campaign on.

All they have is hate.

Their hate is a disease and it's poisoning this nation.

#10 Ocuser But that wouold make too much sense, what on earth are you thinking? LOL

#14 | Posted by Ronnie68 at 2024-09-05 04:33 PM

CLOWN

If they passed the border bill then, they wouldn't have anything to blame on Democrats now. There was a method to their madness.

It's very important that Harris get control of both houses. She wants to put that border bill front and center immediately without a bunch of butt hurt Republicans having hissy fits.

That bill is a disaster for the country.

Need them to matriculate as soon as possible into citizens.

That bill is just a continuation of Biden's child sex trafficking routine.

"One of his followers physically attacked a member of the press at the Johnstown, Pa., rally Aug. 31. Video of the incident shows Trump actively encouraging the man as he was being tackled by security. Trump called the attack, "beautiful." Then he said, "That's alright. That's OK. No, he's on our side."
The Associated Press reported: "The crowd cheered as a pack of police led the man away, prompting Trump to declare, Is there anywhere that's more fun to be than a Trump rally?'"
"Think of it, magnets," he said. "Now all I know about magnets is this, give me a glass of water, let me drop it on the magnets, that's the end of the magnets. Why didn't they use John Deere? Why didn't they bring in the John Deere people? Do you like John Deere? I like John Deere."
"Silence of the lamb! The late great Hannibal Lecter. It is a wonderful man." Trump repeatedly has said Hannibal Lecter, a fictional serial killer, is a "great man" who deserves our "congratulations" " so why keep him out of the U.S.?
"Somebody said, Women don't like Donald Trump,'" he said in Johnstown, Pa., Aug. 30. "I said, I think that's wrong. I think they love me.' I love them."
He pointed to a group of women from North Carolina who have attended 227 of his rallies: "They're wealthy as hell. Look at them. They've got nothing but cash. Their husbands are great. But they allow them to go all over the country."
"The fake news will say Trump is rambling,'" he declared recently in Philadelphia. "No, it's genius what I'm doing up here, but nobody understands."

Putin's bitch got his orders from Moscow and now he's trying snuff out the economy like it was Herman Cain.

#21 | Posted by reinheitsgebot at 2024-09-05 09:46 PM

REIN

The United States is a money making machine. Trump doesn't want to snuff it out. He wants to own it.

#22 | Posted by Twinpac at 2024-09-06 07:34 AM

He wants to own it.

#22 | POSTED BY TWINPAC

He wants to own the country by undermining democracy and democratic institutions. But not just for him. For all the billionaires and the wealthy.

In other words an aristocracy. With him at the helm as the CEO and head of the board of Directors.

Shhhhh! Stop helping them.

"Beware the Military Industrial Complex." Dwight D. Eisenhower's farewell warning.

Trump wants to get the U.S. out of NATO, abandon our allies and join forced with Vladimir Putin to invade Eastern Europe, i.e. WWIII. Russia can't do it alone. They need the support of a U.S. President.

There are billions of dollars to be made because of war. I can picture Trump wanting it all.

#25 | Posted by Twinpac at 2024-09-06 03:49 PM

It was bad enough when he convinced them to kill a border security bill that could have been made law but if they go along with this it's treason.

TOR

Treason?

But he immune. Remember?
