Israel Attacks UN Base in Lebanon Twice in 48 Hours

The explosions come a day after UNIFIL said an Israeli tank directly fired on an observation tower at its headquarters, injuring two Indonesian peacekeepers.

Netanyahu is trying to provoke a wider war BEFORE the next election: a classic case of the "tail wagging the dog". He's hoping to draw the US into the conflict while Israel's supporters in the US still have political leverage. It's a hedge against Harris winning because I suspect that he suspects that Harris will not be as tolerant and forgiving as Biden; perhaps even Obama.

Then of course he, like Trump, is trying to stay out of prison.

@#3 ... Netanyahu is trying to provoke a wider war BEFORE the next election ...

One issue I see is that Pres Biden has said that the US will always support Israel. Fmr Pres Trump has said similar things.

The issue I have with that is that it seems to have given Israel a carte blanch to do whatever the heck it wants to do, up to and including provoking a widespread war in the Middle East that no one seems to want besides Israel.

"Kill them All. Exterminate the Brutes""

There is a brilliantly written book called "Exterminate All the Brutes" by Sven Lindqvist which documents the evils of European colonialism and genocide in 18th/19th/very early 20th century Africa. It uses the story of "Heart of Darkness" as a stepping-off point to analyze the manifestations of European supremacism, racism, colonialism and genocidal thought (which is mimicked to a T in Israel's current behavior against the Palestinians) and how it directly led to the mass atrocities of the 20th century.

He also wrote a book called "A History of Bombing" which I think equally as brilliant, but a bit more challenging read. Europeans know about these books- moreso than the average "literate" American.

Israeli apartheid is as our own Manifest Destiny was, a declaration of war against the people living on land the white colonists wanted to steal and settle.

"One issue I see is that Pres Biden has said that the US will always support Israel. Fmr Pres Trump has said similar things." LAMPLIGHTER at #5 above.

Both come from a generational perspective steeped in Israel's founding and the mythologies surrounding it. You could hardly escape exposure that in the US during the 1950s and 1960s. Think of the movie Exodus, based on the 1958 Leon Uris novel with the same title. Add the political reaffirmation of Israel by both political parties, politicians looking for money and votes, organized lobbying, etc., and you can end up where both Biden and Trump are now on the subject: up that proverbial creek without a paddle. Trump could hardly care less: he'd be hawking copies of the Koran if he thought it might give him some advantage. As for Biden, at best he may feel badly misled and deeply disappointed, for which he should blame only himself. That mythology I mentioned earlier? It bears critical examination, as do all mythologies . From that, perhaps rethinking and reformulation of one's outlook with an eye toward attaining a more reality-based view.

Bibi seems to have quietly declared war on the UN. I would think expulsion and sanctions would be a minimum.
We're sitting by while Israel conducts their "final solution" to it's Palestinian problem under cover of the US election and campaign finance regs.

The British alone lost 2 million men in Churchill and FDR's plan to stop Hitler in N Africa... and Israel is what we got for saving the world, because it was all downhill for him after that.

So, no bargain, but it is a geopolitical and strategic assets as per the link in #12.

And American 'christians' of certain rwing political persuasion are also stupid when it comes to their religion as it does with their politics.

They think Israel is still the Holy Land. It isn't all the land is holy, and has been for over 2000 years for most of Christianity in the US, barely it seems, and certainly in the non-Western church.

Gorgeous sentiment, being a messiah. He knows children are being massacred en mass.

It is obvious that Biden does not love Netanyahu. The nature of this relationship is not just theological or military. It is political.

Netanyahu is threatening something political that impacts successions of presidents.

Some knowledge his predecessors utilized that apparently cannot be circumvented by anything less than power that Bush Sr. wielded.

Frankly, it's strange.

I suspect, regardless of who the president of this country is.

America will always support Israel. 100%.

Democrats send munitions.

Republicans will send troops.

Israel is an Abortion.

Not viable without being a Parasite on a Stronger Host.

The US unfortunately is that Host..

Israel controls the US indirectly by influencing our political system.

Like tapeworms on the bowels of animals. Eventually the host is destroyed by the parasite.

Then the parasite Perishes As Well.

But until then Homeostasis is maintained and the Host seems well.

But it's Not.
