Why COVID-19 Vaccine Protection Quickly Wanes

Neither vaccinations nor immunity from infections seem to thwart SARS-CoV-2 for long.

Although the vaccines do provide short term protection, the bad news is neither Covid mRNA vaccines nor being infected with Covid provide long term immunity/protection from infection:

"The bad news is the failure of SARS-CoV-2 mRNA vaccines themselves"with or without natural infections"to induce LLPCs in the bone marrow," he says. "The good news is this failure itself provides a research opportunity to find a way to change the fate of short-lived vaccines."

The fact that neither the mRNA vaccines nor coming down with Covid provide long term protection seems to explain why people can be infected by Covid multiple times.

@#1 ... Although the vaccines do provide short term protection, the bad news is neither Covid mRNA vaccines nor being infected with Covid provide long term immunity/protection from infection: ...

I read the cited article, and one thing I noticed was that "short-term" was not really defined.

Yeah, there was the nebulous "few months" description.

But what does "few" mean?

2 0r 3?

5 or 6?

Currently, I am waiting 4 months between COVID booster updates.

Is that 4 month period within the "few months" of the article?

Much like when COVID first appeared on the stage back in 2020 (e.g., was it passed on by touch or air?), not enough seems to be known ...

@#3 ... Another lok at the problem. ...

Yup.

It seems that current research is showing that there is a difference between the short-term immunity of the COVID vaccines as compared to the long-term immunity presented by the, e.g. polio vaccines.

imo, this is a good thing.

Recognizing a deficiency and then trying to eliminate that deficiency.

Even Fauci isn't getting regular (every 4 month) boosters. And he makes a dollar for every shot.

#5 | Posted by visitor_ at 2024-10-15 03:17 AM

Most people I know who're over the age of 50 and got the shot, ended up getting COVID and nearly dying.

I wouldn't put that ---- in my body for any amount of compensation.

Don't forget to tip the person who penetrates you.

#7 | Posted by sentinel at 2024-10-15 09:53 AM

My shot is scheduled for noon today.

#9 | Posted by REDIAL at 2024-10-15 10:28 AM

I went about 2 years between my last shot and this newest one. In that time, I'm pretty sure I had a mild case of covid. I think I've had it twice. And I still attribute the mild cases to having been vaccinated.

Not that all of the unvaccinated died, but all of the people I know who died of the virus had not been vaccinated. Every one of them refused the shot.

#11 | Posted by Whatsleft at 2024-10-15 10:58 AM

I've never had a case of Covid. What I have had is myocarditis right after I had my first and only booster. My initial vaccine was the two shot Pfizer routine and I had no major ill effects. I don't remember what the booster was, but I know it wasn't Pfizer.

Despite the Biden/Harris great replacement open borders policy, there are more Republicans than ever before.

Sounds like magical thinking, given the article says that the vaccine protection quickly wanes.

So you're a boy of 12-14 years of age?

That explains sooo much, you have no idea.

#21 | Posted by jpw at 2024-10-16 10:23 AM

Great, now I have to worry about JPW and Tim Walz showing up at my house.

#22 | Posted by visitor_ at 2024-10-16 10:54 AM

Exactly the type of response a childish mind would come up with.

You do know the Walz accusations have been shown to be fabricated, right?

#23 | Posted by jpw at 2024-10-16 12:11 PM

On topic, I saw this paper and thought it an interesting read.

However, there's a few things at issue.

There's more than one way to activate B cells, one of which doesn't require receptor crosslinking. In fact, most B cell responses against viruses aren't via simple receptor cross linking because it does require a highly repetitive antigen (target).

Second, there's a common mistake in the media to call antibodies "immunity," when they're only a single aspect of immunity. Antibodies wane naturally after the infection is cleared. They have to. But that's why memory responses are important.

Finally, we're still in a time frame where new strains have novel enough changes that it can get around antibodies but not necessarily T cells. It's the T cell responses that are likely responsible for continued far lower numbers of hospitalizations and deaths that we see with newer strains.

Interesting stuff but above my pay grade.

This past weekend I was on YouTube and came across a video of things viewed through an electron microscope. One of the most fascinating was a white blood cell chasing down bacteria. White blood cells must be terrifying to any foreign entity of the same size. It was tenacious.

Biden Harris border policy didn't require migrants to do either of these things

Why force legal immigrants like myself and citizens to be required but not the line jumping newcomers?

Seems like an indication it didn't work regardless of policy.

Or was it Biden's policy to endanger more people?

The covid vaccine was NEVER mandatory in the US. There were always other options.

A vaccination for a virus so deadly, you had to be tested to even know if you had it.

JPW is a quack. He was flipping burgers during COVID plandemic and telling everyone he had a pDh in virology.

New Nasal Vaccines Offer Better Protection from COVID and Flu"No Needle Needed

Gentle nasal spray vaccines against COVID, the flu and RSV are coming. They may work better than shots in the arm

Vaccines delivered through the nose are now being tested for several diseases. In the U.S., early clinical trials are showing success. Two of these vaccines have generated multiple immune system responses against the COVID-causing virus in people who received them through a puff up the nose; earlier this year their makers received nearly $20 million from Project NextGen, the Biden-Harris administration's COVID medical initiative. Researchers are optimistic that a nasal spray delivering a COVID vaccine could be ready for the U.S. as soon as 2027. Although recent efforts have focused on inoculations against SARS-CoV-2, nasal vaccines could also protect us against the flu, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), and more.

As the military should have done.

The task that is assigned to the military is for, among other things, readiness.

Based upon the medical information available, the military determined that it's force should be vaccinated.

So, what's your current alias' beef?
