"The public support is the latest sign of Trump allies' attempts to save Hegseth's prospects as he faces a tough confirmation process, amid mounting allegations related to Hegseth's workplace behavior and treatment of women, including a surfaced sexual assault allegation from 2017, which he has denied.

Amid calls for more vetting, Hegseth's name was submitted to the FBI for a background check, and his attorney, Timothy Parlatore, said Thursday that his client had "received the forms yesterday from the FBI, and we're working on them right now."

How many times must it be said? Only the best people!

As I understand it, the Appointments so far consist of something like 10 billionaires, 11 donors, and 12 former Fox contributors.

Make America For Sale Again!!

... Looks like Pete is doing well now. I mean, people were a little bit concerned," Trump told NBC's Kristen Welker in an interview at Trump Tower. ...

Can you say "clueless?"

I knew you could.

... "He's a young guy with a tremendous track record. ..

Yeah. But does Pres-elect Trump really want to talk about nominee Hegseth's track record?

... Actually, went to Princeton and went to Harvard. He was a good student at both, but he loves the military, and I think people are starting to see it ...

Still...

No comment on how nominee Hegseth has the managerial experience to run one of the largest organizations in our government.

These comments by Pres-elect Trump seem to be more along the lines of damning by faint praise.

MAGA's view of Pres-Elect Trump?

Soup Dragons - Divine Thing (1992)

Lyrics excerpt ...

...
You are the one supreme being
Just dressed to kill and fulfill just any dream
And you are the one heart's desire
All hips and lips made to trick just any fool

[Chorus]
I could have sworn that you were an angel
'cause you're a sweet, sweet, sweet, divine thing
But I should have known that you were the devil
Dressed like a sweet, sweet, sweet, divine thing

Anyone who doesn't believe Trump sees himself as the King of America is being willfully blind.

He's going to the opening of the new Notre Dame
Cathedral to to bless it with his glorious presence.

Pres-elect Trump seems to be saying to nom Hegseth, you're on your own. If you can convince the Senate to confirm you, I am behind you.

If you can't, well, tough breaks, I've got backups. And good luck with those future lawsuits.

Pretty much how he feels about all his nominees.

Another Trumpian role model for American youth--dresses well, talks loud, drinks a lot, lets his hands wander, married three times...

The primary consideration fyor appointment to an office as critical as Sec of Def. is absolute loyalty and respect for the Constitution; that should far exceed loyalty to any President.

Love to hear all these Trump haters dishing on Hegseth after their guy Austin went dark on everyone when the number 2 person was on vacation, leaving no one in charge for 2 weeks. That's what you want in our defense department leadership.

A soused rapist who steals from charities is the best candidate Putin's bitch can come up with.

7 straight failed audits.

Falling well short of recruitment goals.

Bringing woke and DEI into an institution that needs to prioritize battle readiness over all else.

I don't know if Hegseth is the right pick but the status quo isn't working and Dems can piss right off with their attempts at Kavanaugh 2.0.

7 straight failed audits.

So Lewzer failed 75% of his audits the last time but he's going to fix it now?

#16. Like I said, I don't know if this guy is the answer.

Dems were right to try and expose kavanaugh. Repubs just have no morals or ethics so it didn't matter.

Just like any intelligent person knows if a man is so dumb that he doesn't believe in germs, he's too dumb to run the most powerful military on earth. That concerns me more than any women he raped or cheated on.

#18 | Posted by SpeakSoftly at 2024-12-09 07:44 PM

I don't know if this guy is the answer.

I did some looking into this and apparently no major part of the DoD has ever passed an audit.

They now claim to be on pace to pass their 2028 audit. Obviously, someone needs to cook the books ASAP.

The dems would prefer one of the many generals, all connected with the military industrial complex.

Explain what those are when it comes to the military.

Seriously, tell us the exact policies you are referring to.

Trump doubling down on Hegseth sounds as much sense as me drawing for an inside straight last weekend. Conceivably possible, but a foolish use of limited resources. A high price to placate MAGAts.
