I don't know why you are turning to make excuses for it. I guess it's a lefty thing of refusing to take ownership and responsibility for one's own actions.

My guess is the root of the problem starts with journalism schools. What we are seeing isn't traditional journalism. And that's why trust is at all time low. They sacrificed standards and their own credibility to pursue a broad political and cultural agenda. Legacy media is dying and it's become a long, drawn-out suicide.

It's become increasingly clear as more and more trickles out that Biden wasn't calling the shots. On a day to day basis it must have been a small cadre of his inner circle. From a broader policy perspective my guess is Obama was setting the agenda and was using someone like Susan Rice to communicate it. Once his kids were off to college he bucked tradition and maintained his DC residence for a reason.
