Remider to be sure to check your carbon monoxide detector.

Deputies responded to a welfare check...

There's the problem right there, the cops probably shot them.

"No Foul Play suspected"

Chevy Chase could not be reached for comment.

the cops probably shot them.

They're white, so no.

In other news, Generalisimo Francisco Franco is still dead.

I was just thinking the same thing. Carbon Monoxide poisoning was probably the culprit.

RIP.

Still can't believe he was 95.

Definitely one of my favorite actors of all time. A distinctive one too. RIP.

95? It could have been accidentally on purpose... why not?

#9 | Posted by RightisTrite at 2025-02-27 12:55 PM

The dog died too. Seems likely there was foul play or something like carbon monoxide killed them

Admired him as a superb character actor who crackled with star charisma on screen. Amazing talent.

In the aside column, I find it a bit odd someone who quit the movie business quite a while ago because of what his doc told him about his heart would live in Santa Fe (altitude 7,000-feet +/-).

I liked his reprise of his character from The Conversation in that Will Smith movie.

They knew that pet dog was trouble the minute they got him, just didn't know he was capable of murder suicide.

My fave was The Conversation. Beautiful, controlled work. I also like I Never Sang For My Father, based on the stage play.

If you're a Hackman fan, I'd recommend both.

"Young Frankenstein"

I had forgotten all about that scene. Holy ----.

... Gene Hackman, Wife Found Dead, Police say No Foul Play Suspected ...

Maybe too soon to say that?

I wish I knew ...

Gene Hackman was likely dead for 9 days before he and his wife were found, sheriff says
www.cnn.com

... Data from actor Gene Hackman's pacemaker shows he was likely dead for nine days before he and his wife were found dead at their New Mexico home, authorities said.

The pacemaker shows Hackman's "last event" was recorded on February 17, Santa Fe County Sheriff Adan Mendoza said at a Friday news conference. "According to the pathologist, I think that is a very good assumption, that that was his last day of life," the sheriff said.

Hackman and his wife, along with their dog, were found dead this week in circumstances officials deemed "suspicious enough" to warrant thorough investigation.

As authorities investigate their deaths, several items have been taken from the couple's home.

Two green cellular devices were removed, along with three medicines: a thyroid medication, Diltiazem " used to treat high blood pressure or chest pain " and Tylenol, according to the inventory released Friday as part of a search warrant affidavit in Santa Fe County court.

Also seized by sheriff's deputies were records from MyQuest " a medical diagnostics service " and a 2025 monthly planner, it says.
Married American couple, Classical musician Betsy Arakawa and actor Gene Hackman, attend the Thalians Ball (in honor of Liza Minnelli) at the Century Plaza Hotel, Century City, California, October 8, 1994.

The causes of death of Hackman, 95, and Betsy Arakawa are not known. The pair did not show any external trauma, and there were no immediate signs of foul play, according to preliminary autopsies and officials. There were also no immediate signs of a carbon monoxide or natural gas leak, authorities said. ...

Time will tell ...

@#16 ... Some of my favorite performances: ,,,

I'm not a film buff, by any stretch of the imagination

But Mr Hackman seems to be someone who I know and respect. I wish I knew why. I wish I could point to a specific film. But I cannot.

For some reason, I just ~know of him.~

I mean no disrespect in that comment, quite the contrary.

For Mr Hackman to break through my apparent anti-movie barrier, and raise to my consciousness, is something I want to extol.

Time will tell ...

AKA we'll find out eventually or we'll soon see.

Enough of the BS platitudes. It's a Well No Shit Sherlock level of response.

Why bother? Is there actually a question whether we will or will not find out? Is it actually a context of "time will tell"?

Enough of this BS. Why bother mentioning at all?

"Whelp, I guess time will tell...we'll eventually understand..."

Tiring and useless.

@#22 ... Why bother mentioning at all? ...

For me (I cannot speak for others) Mr Hackman is an actor that I know.

Why I know him, I cannot say, as I mentioned previously.

But, I pay my respects.
