Judge Orders Trump Admin to Reinstate Tens of Thousands

U.S. District Judge William Alsup ordered President Donald Trump's administration to reinstate tens of thousands of probationary federal employees on Thursday, according to Politico's Josh Gerstein and Kyle Cheney. In his ruling, Alsup referred to the mass firings as "unlawful" and a "sham."

"It is sad, a sad day, when our government would fire some good employee and say it was based on performance when they know good and well that's a lie," mused Alsup from the bench before issuing the order.

He also laid into the Department of Justice, telling an attorney representing it that "You will not bring the people in here to be cross-examined. You're afraid to do so because you know cross examination would reveal the truth."

"I tend to doubt that you're telling me the truth. ... I'm tired of seeing you stonewall on trying to get at the truth," he added.

And now Trumpy Elmo or their cronies should be sued into oblivion for creating a hostile work environment false accusations slander defamation and harassment of American citizens and anything else the lawyers can think of.

They need to go through some things and feel a little "disruption" in THEIR lives for what they are doing to innocent Americans who are just trying to do their jobs and live their lives.

I'm wondering what happens when the Executive Branch ignores this judge, like they ignored the last judge ... it's not like they're going to arrest themselves, and barring that, what can the courts do to make them comply?

So Trump illegally fired workers and now has a reinstate them and we'll have to pay them back pay for the time that they weren't at work.

This is exactly the type of business acumen I would expect from a guy who's declared bankruptcy multiple times and manage to lose money running casinos.

I think that's the part that galls me the most: folks who got multiple superior reviews, who weren't even shown the least modicum of respect, as if they didn't even deserve the truth.

You know who is federal law enforcement but does not come under the executive? For one, the Capitol Police, who would probably love to arrest the insurrection leader who caused deaths among their own. There must be other agencies too.

The judge has extended this to almost every agency - if not every agency - in a post verdict expansion. Also a 2nd Federal judge has ruled the same way on the East coast - stating the reinstatement of those fired be done immediately and proof provided the orders have been carried out.

Judge William Alsup eviscerated the Trump administration's lawyers and the Trump OPM. Ripped them to SHREDS.

Trump wanted retribution?

He might just get it - just not the way he thought.

They can start dismissing cases brought by the DOJ. Sounds crazy but why should a lawless president expect anyone else to obey the law?

Judge William Alsup worked under the Carter administration and was appointed USDJ by POTUS Bill Clinton. Imagine if he oversaw the Trumpf special counsel cases. We probably wouldn't be in this mess today.

Don't expect MAGA idiots to care for constitutional checks and balances. They've turned to viewing the constitution as an obstacle to be destroyed and overcome.

When Trump ignores this order they'll cheer because somehow a government gutted of public services is "small," even though it's headed by one man with powers far exceeding his constitutional mandate to the point of being antithetical to the country they supposedly love.
