The world woke up

In less than six months, the entire world has been turned upside down. There is no longer such a thing as conventional wisdom or the status quo. The unthinkable has become the banal. Take illegal immigration -- remember the 10,000 daily illegal entries under former President Joe Biden? Recall the only solution was supposedly "comprehensive immigration reform"--a euphemism for mass amnesties. Now, there is no such thing as daily new illegal immigration. It simply disappeared with common-sense enforcement of existing immigration laws -- and a new president. How about the 40,000-50,000 shortfall in military recruitment?

I don't 100% agree with the linked article. For example, it's way too soon to be celebrating the economy. I still think as the tariffs become more and more in place the economic setbacks may come to fruition. Also, a little to early to celebrate NATO's considerable increase in defense spending. Yes, at the moment they have ramped up spending but a 5% pledge? It's certainly nice but the due date to achieve that pledge is 10 years from now. To make a pledge is one thing. To actually follow through is completely different.

That's how many were detained trying to cross the border as Title 42 ended. Title 42 was only in place legally as long as the COVID Emergency was still in place.

That number is how many were detained, not how many got into the country illegally.

The number that high for ONLY two days RIGHT AS Title 42 was about to end.

That number was high because Title 42 didn't have legal repercussions for trying to enter illegally so it was there last chance to try to enter illegally without facing any sanctions.

Title 42 started under Trump.

Biden's military in January 2023 expanded the Future Soldier Preparatory Course to help potential recruits meet the Army's physical or academic standards to enlist.

Usually presidents don't bypass congress to cut funding and implement tariffs mid fiscal year. Since Trump has repeatedly changed both the budget and trade terms ignoring congress and the budget the fiscal year no longer means much.
