Republicans, for decades, fooled millions into believing that they believed in things.

They were always nihilists though, weren't they?

It's clear they believe in nothing but power.

Everything else they claimed to believe was just a convenient argument used at that place and time.

As for religious beliefs, they do believe those, I think. But not genuinely as in they're followers of Christ. They believe them in that they're merely a rationale to allow themselves to believe the facade that they're decent people.

Who would have thought that all those gun owners in Chicago are actually freedom fighters, in Alexander Hamilton's view in Federalist #29, and James Madison's view in Federalist 46? As could soon be determined by the SCOTUS, those possessing guns in Dem cities are actually terrorists who may be shot on sight by the US military apparatus occupying said city...
