Trump Brags: 'We Took the Freedom of Speech Away'

President Donald Trump bragged on Wednesday that his administration "took the freedom of speech away" with a one year penalty for "inciting riots" with flag burning -- never mind that the Supreme Court of the United States clearly ruled on this exact issue decades ago.

"We took the freedom of speech away," President Trump boasted in his opening remarks at his "antifa roundtable" Wednesday. It was a jarring admission--perhaps a Freudian slip--from a president who is, indeed, evidently intent on eliminating free speech. trib.al/6RZEOqc

He's the little boy that cried, "Antifa!", and he's signaling the Proud Boys et al to get ready to Stand Up... those that aren't already ICE.

This is a dangerous, unprincipled man with way too much power and way too little concern for average Americans; he's willing to follow ALL the Project 25 plans, and one of them is to extinguish the only other completive (somewhat) Party.

The Republican Party was sold lock stock and barrel to the corporate billionaire elite last year, and will do whatever is necessary to protect their cozy tax rates, breaks, shelters that they have paid for (very cheaply) through now legal purchases of Congressional Politicians and a President AND a Supreme Court.

The only power they don't own is the Military, and they are werking hard on completely owning that; pretty sure it's right there in the Plan.

What a shame.

An EO won't take away anything. Trump is talking out of his rear again. He doesn't give a rat's pitoot about anything other than interior decorating.

Our non-Trump voting free speech absolutist has become strangely quiet about the increasingly anti-Constitutional actions of this administration as they destroy our Republic from within.

Re 14

Hillary has never been the president and is unlikely to ever be the president.

Your whataboutism is irrelevant but duly noted.

Why wouldn't President George W. Bush (R) help her pass that law?

Why wouldn't President George W. Bush (R) help her pass that law?

The law was actually passed in 1989. In part:

"Whoever knowingly mutilates, defaces, physically defiles, burns, maintains on the floor or ground, or tramples upon any flag of the United States shall be fined under this title or imprisoned for not more than one year, or both."

Wrapping yourself in the flag is the last refuge but he's been feeling some mortality lately so his best chance for redemption is a really huge confession.
