Mamdani chooses an actual felon for public safety post

Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani has chosen a formerly incarcerated rapper to serve on his City Hall transition team as he prepares to take office in New York City Jan. 1, according to reports. The controversial selection comes as Mamdani, who won November's election on a progressive platform, assembles his transition team. Mamdani's appointment of Mysonne Linen, 49, was announced in a Nov. 26 Instagram post from Until Freedom, a New York City"based social-justice organization, where Linen is a leader.

No he's not. You progressives made up those charges just for Trump.

#4 | Posted by boaz at 2025-12-09 07:54 AM

Donald Trump was found guilty of 34 felonies and liable for sexual abuse, Boaz.
Offenses that evidently bother you not a whit.
That's why when folks say you've dropped off into a cult they're absoeffenlutely correct.

Yes he is. 34 times a felon.

#6 | Posted by LauraMohr at 2025-12-09 09:03 AM

I can practically envision Boaz pulling a Donnie Demento act, rolling around on the floor, weeping, blubbering, "No, it's not, no it's not."

Funny, because the object of Boaz's too deep affection is in fact a thirty-four times convicted criminal.

#7 | Posted by Doc_Sarvis at 2025-12-09 09:42 AM

DJT has to been convicted of multiple Felony counts of financial fraud, sexual abuse, and defamation by Juries.

Why is Major B(s) lying about the this?

#8 | Posted by Corky at 2025-12-09 09:44 AM

Because he's a lying lair for Trump?

#9 | Posted by Doc_Sarvis at 2025-12-09 09:50 AM

Apparently because he's in a Cult and believes all the lies he is told.

#10 | Posted by Corky at 2025-12-09 09:53 AM

ok, lets pretend that someone who doesn't support Trump posted this...

Can we discuss if this seems like a bad decision or not for NY? Or is it off limits since a D did it Laura?

#11 | POSTED BY KWRX25

Ok. Why is it a bad decision? I have no idea how he qualifies. I have no idea of his abilities. I have no idea whether he deserves a second chance.

Do you?

You were willing to give a convicted felon a chance to be President of the United States. How did that work out?

Now that I think about it.

Bad idea.

#12 | Posted by donnerboy at 2025-12-09 10:36 AM

Should we also pretend that Fox News didn't write this?

#13 | Posted by Corky at 2025-12-09 10:37 AM

Perhaps we should also pretend that people never change, even after 25 years of proving that they have?

"The Bronx-born rapper, who was once signed to Def Jam Recordings, served seven years in prison after his 1999 conviction for two armed robberies. He has since become a social justice activist, co-founding of the organization Until Freedom, which combats racial injustice."

"The 49-year-old was a rising rap star in the late 1990s when a Bronx jury found him guilty of being part of a group that robbed two cab drivers - on June 8, 1997, and March 31, 1998, according to the New York Daily News reporting at the time"

;;

"Linen has always insisted he was innocent, arguing that he had no reason to take part in the robberies because he was making money in music, as his breakthrough as a solo artist had taken place that summer.

While he was cleared of assault, he was found guilty of three counts of robbery, weapons possession and possession of stolen property, according to the New York Daily News.

He was sentenced to seven to fourteen years and paroled in July 2006, after serving seven years, the New York Post reported, citing the Department of Correction and Community Renewal. Newsweek has contacted the New York City Department of Correction, via email outside of normal working hours, for comment.

Since his release, Linen has become community activist, eventually co-founding Until Freedom.

Linen's post-prison story also includes writing children's books and continuing music projects."

"When this comment should have been the only thing they addressed."

Boaz's comment was not presented with any sort of reasoning as to how or why this is bad for NYC. Aside from the guy being a convicted felon, which is quite obviously not bad when it's the President, in Boaz's mind.

"Black Man Bad!" is the Republican version of "Orange Man Bad!" Did you really want us to dig into that?

The team sport mentality is what helps keep politics in the US in a downward spiral. The Dems don't have a house and the Rep don't have a house, it's all our one house. We are supposed to be self reflecting and calling out -------- regardless of who is originating it. We'd be doing a lot better as a country if we all could do this. Instead though I'm sure we will keep running out worse and worse trash as candidates in a race to the bottom because we are too busy whatabouting what the other 'team' is doing.

It all started when Bill Clinton was not removed from office for lying under oath.

Partisan blindness to Moral Turpitide has many Fathers.

The Dems let Clinton Walk.

Then Bush lied us into a war that killed hundreds thousands of innocent people. He was Reelected.

How about Trans people, and people who think Trans people should be able to use whichever bathroom they please? That's Deplorable to millions of Americans, right?

Americans were ready for a female POTUS in 2016.

Hillary Clinton won 65,853,514 ballots (48.2% of the popular vote) to Dummkopf Trumpf's 62,984,828 ballots (46.1% of the popular vote).

In 2016, the anachronistic Electoral College undid the Vox Populi and ushered in Trumpf's first Reign of Terror.
