Since the Obama years I've been warning anyone and everyone that weaponizing the DOJ is going to come full circle and it has. Absolutely Trump is weaponizing it and it sucks big time. Maybe Josh Shapiro is the one to fix this.

You and I have had this conversation countless times. And it wasn't just Trump the DOJ aggressively went after, it was anyone and everyone they could play "find me the man and I'll show you the crime" game with people in Trump's orbit. This stuff was already happening before he even won the 2016 election.

Gen Flynn was set up with a perjury trap. They had the transcripts in front of them. The FBI lied/misrepresented the reason for questioning him. They weren't trying to get any new information. They were trying to get him to lie and/or misremember what they already had in front of them.

Obama didn't really so much engage in lawfare until the end of his second term. He had the DOJ abuse it's powers in different ways, sue and settle comes to mind.

Since Bannon and Navarro were imprisoned for noncompliance with a congressional subpoena I was curious as to who else had been thrown in prison for this. I couldn't find any other examples. Here is what AI said:

Sometimes you think you remember something correctly but you don't. Anecdotal example:

Over the holidays my brother and I were talking about college football playoffs. In 2015 OSU won it. My recollection was they won the first game by a TD against Oregon and then curb stomped Alabama in the championship game. It was the other way around they played Alabama first and Oregon second. My memory was off.

FBI agents lied/misrepresented the nature of the interview to put Flynn at ease and deceive him about their intentions. Had they disclosed what they were actually doing Flynn would have very likely asked for his lawyer to be present. He would have been coached how to answer questions or, more likely, his lawyer would have shut the whole thing down because he wasn't being investigated for a crime. It was a legal ambush and Flynn's life was turned upside down over it.

It was the classic definition of lawfare.

When investigating a crime. They weren't doing that. They weren't investigating him for a crime. In fact they didn't even have a legitimate reason for that interview. But, you can usually be relied upon to defend abuse when Dems are doing it.

Secondly, you STILL haven't addressed the unprecedented move of jailing Bannon and Navarro for noncompliance with a congressional subpoena. And you've had ample opportunity to do so.
