He reported to me in detail, as this administration does every day, about the development of the negotiations. In this case, the explosion in the negotiations."

As a general rule I do not believe a word Netanyahu says. In this instance however, it seems more likely than not that Netanyahu is telling the truth. Trump relies the advice of the Israeli Prime Minister more than he does his own hand picked aides and advisors.
