Israeli banks said on Monday they were heeding U.S. sanctions against four West Bank settlers accused of violence against Palestinians, despite calls by the finance minister and another far-right cabinet member not to comply.

These settlers participated in raids on Palestinian villages that resulted in deaths and injuries to Palestinians.

The next move could be to freeze the accounts of illegal West Bank settlements.

Background:

On 26 February 2023, hundreds of Israeli settlers went on a violent late-night rampage in Huwara and other Palestinian villages in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, leaving one civilian dead and 100 other Palestinians injured, four critically, and the town ablaze. It was the worst attack stemming from Israeli settler violence in the northern West Bank in decades.

Israeli soldiers were in the area while the rampage by the settlers unfolded, and did not intervene. The rampage was called a pogrom by an Israeli commander in charge of the area.

Biden has been clear that the illegal settlements are an obstacle to peace and that violence against Palestinians in the West Bank is totally unacceptable.

Authoritarianism run amok.

Where is innocent until proven guilty?

Sovereign nation?

This is a bad road to go down, but not surprising given Biden's need to look tough on Israel for his theocratic extremists.

"settlers"

The Colonialism is undeniable.

I wonder which of the over 100 American private weapons contractors was arming them?

Biden did go around Congress to fuel their "democracy", preventing Bibi Putin's immediate replacement.

The beheaded babies really effected Biden such that he exclaimed "I AM A ZIONIST!" directly to CNN, clearly and of his own volition.

$14 billion.. such big receipts, it should be simple to account for.

Zionists like a game of peekaboo, apparently.

Probably because they're called "settlements" on the West Bank.

"Invaders" would be more accurate.

The theocratic extremists are the ones stealing land because "god wants them to have it"

There really is no solution to this problem.

This stupid crap will just continue long after everyone involved today is dead.

This is just Israel mowing the lawn again.

Another intafada is coming soon.

In some respects I agree.

(wow, did I just say that?)

The Middle East is a cauldron of uncertainty.

Israel was in the process of participating in US-led negotiations with Saudi Arabia for peace. Iran was not a fan of that and, apparently, encouraged Hamas to attack.

Yeah, there are factions in the Middle East that do not want peace, at any cost.

That seems to be odd to say, but there it is.

But yeah, decades from now, we (or our descendants) will still be reading about the Middle East wars.

The problem is not religion, the problem is water.

The problem is Imperialism. Israel's and the West.

Leaving the Middle East alone would have helped immensely.

7 million Jews invading and claiming a "God given" right to oppress the local populations is more than a small factor.

Is that what Tik Tok tells you happened?

"The problem is not religion" I disagree. From 2000 to 2021 the strip went from 481 to 1,230 mosques. These people are praying themselves into a hole. Meanwhile, Istael also think god wants them to have their land back. Religion is poison and makes you complacent. For the people of gaza it makes them complacent with poverty. For israel, complacent with violence and taking territory.

You got anything with more weight, or substance, than that?

Or are Puerile quips your best line of Reasoning?

It's what Netanyahu told us is going to happen.
"This is the land of our forefathers," he said in 1997, "and we claim it to the same degree that the other side claims it."
