Better late than never, perhaps, but way late. And still, disgraceful.

Interesting how there is not a single individual in charge. Instead the Security Cabinet has to vote.

Re 3

We are lucky. Israel is lucky. The Palestinians are lucky. The whole world is lucky that Nutty Yahoo is not making ALL the decisions by himself in this conflict.

His decisions haven't been that great lately.

Opening the border crossings is a good first step. The next thing Israel has to do is not bomb the trucks and kill the aid workers.

This is ALL political theater. Creating floating piers and opening new entry points 25 miles away from where the people are seems designed to create an illusion that Biden is doing SOMETHING (other than sending more bombs to the IDF).

The Raffa crossing has the capacity to move the aid. This isn't a traffic jam, that can be solved by adding a lane or opening a gate. The backlog is (allegedly) getting shipments inspected, and providing security for the trucks as they travel in Gaza to deliver the aid to the people who need it most. This "solution" will only make those two main problems worse.

The most effective thing the US could do to help is provide manpower and logistics to get the aid truck inspections completed quickly, and help coordinate security (preferably by Arab neutrals, if there is such a thing) to get those trucks safely to distribution points inside Gaza.

"This is ALL political theater."

And I guess it's just political theater that Israel announced today that it ending its ground invasion and is completely withdrawing from Gaza.

ending its ground invasion and is completely withdrawing from Gaza.

I find that rather surprising. I'm sure if they look hard enough there's more stuff to blow up.

"This is ALL political theater."

The biggest act of political theater in all of this is:

"Do you condemn Hamas?"

30,000 dead civilians.

Old: "Crisis Actors."
New: "Political Theater."

#7 Absolutely political theater. War's over. You believe that? Think about it, Open up Erez crossing then back out of southern Gaza. What do you think is going to happen? Northern Gazans start heading home, and toward the incoming aid. Then boom, the war reignites. IDF is already shooting people for just moving around in North Gaza, or moving northward. Looks to me like they are just letting off the pressure to flush them out and draw them northward.

That's all it took.

More likely they are going to invade Lebanon.
