Could this be WWIII?

Do either of them have mutual aid treaties like NATO? If Ukraine or Gaza didn't start WWIII I doubt this will.

Re #1

No. I think it means embassies are no longer off limits to attack. Apparently.

You never know where this sort of thing could lead

But one thing is certain the world is getting unstable.

When exactly was the entire world "stable"?

27 BC to 180 AD?(The Pax Romana?)

We need to Make America Great Again!

Like the Romans did in 27 BC to 180 AD!!

Have they ever REALLY been off limits to attack?

Per Biden's demand Mexico will be allowing hundreds of thousands of Ecuadorians to travel through Mexico so the Biden admin can welcome them into this country without Visa's or being requir3d to go through established ports of entry.

Well, they certainly aren't off-limits anymore.

No word on whether Israel responded regarding the safety of Iranian music festivals.

Last year, my wife and I were looking at vacation/short term rental properties on the beach in Ecuador.

That search ended after stories about Ecuador being a thruway for cartels and the resulting violence.

BTW, most of Cancun's hotels and condo complexes were built with cartel funds for money laundering purposes.

That's some interesting info about Ecuador's drug connection, AmericanUnity.

And since Mexico is in the hands of the drug lords, it would be absolutely AMAZING if this entire Mexico-Ecuador kerfuffle turned out to be all about some cartel beef.

MadBomber's years playing Drug Warrior in South America didn't fix this problem?

Shocking.

I wasn't aware until doing some digging. Human trafficking goes thru Ecuador too.

This is the first article that popped up in a Google search for "Ecuador drug smuggling" There are many more:

The beaches are beautiful and the prices very affordable. Sadly, out for same reasons we wouldn't buy in Mexico. Sad state of affairs. I used to really enjoy spending time on the water in Mexico, Ensanada to PuertoVallarta. Now, the only place I go is to visit a friend and his family in Merida, on the Yucatan. I feel pretty safe there, but IMO the oceanfront meccas are just too iffy nowadays with the cartel BS that spills over with violence, theft, and kidnappings.

Funny thing happened visiting a friend in Puerto Vallarta one time:

At the time the Federales drove Ford LTD's. Frank was half Mexican and half Sicilian, swarthy, had a mustache, and drove a Ford LTD. When we'd drive anywhere, people would scatter thinking he was a Federale pulling up to f with them.

Even back then, corruption was rampant. Luxury cars owned by Americans were seized by cops of Federales for their chiefs to drive. At one point, we were going to do a jet ski concession on the beach in PV. Just before buying 6 of them, a sailboat concession was seized *like that* by cops and handed over to some Mexican jeffe. It was fortunate for us that we hadn't bought them yet.

Iran only has itself to blame. Embassies haven't been safe since 1979 when the Iranians seized ours in Tehran.

Nothing screams "we're still a third world --------" like invading a foreign embassy.
