Flashback 2016

"Yes We Did!"

Now that their man was in, and with Russian TV showing cheery Americans lining up to vote for Trump, they had to change their tune.

"This is a great day for American democracy," gushed pro-Kremlin ideologue Sergei Markov at breakfast at the U.S. ambassador's residence in Moscow. "We have to respect American democracy."

"They're drinking in the Kremlin now," said Alexei Venediktov, editor in chief of Echo of Moscow.

"Today I want to ride around Moscow with an American flag in the window, if I can find a flag," tweeted Margarita Simonyan, editor in chief of the Kremlin-owed RT news channel, a day after she tweeted "Democracy. R.I.P." in expectation of a Clinton win.

"Tonight is a night of Trump for all Americans and the world," said Boris Chernyshev, a member of an ultranationalist faction at the Duma whose leader invited journalists for a champagne toast.

Citing President Obama's 2008 slogan, he added, "Tonight we can use the slogan with Mr. Trump: Yes we did."

"Russian spies, lies and sabotage are coming to America

Cue James Bond and Felix Leiter " the world of 007 is becoming very real again.

Russian spies, lies and sabotage are back with a vengeance in Europe, and on a level not witnessed since the Cold War.

Europe is burning. In Ukraine, it is kinetic warfare. But elsewhere, Moscow is conducting asymmetrical warfare against NATO member-states.

Even as Russia's army flounders, its Federal Security Service, heir and successor to the KGB, excels. Journalists and politicians are being bribed as part of influence peddling schemes.

Arson attacks are growing like wildfire, including in England, Germany, Poland, Latvia and Lithuania " and Russian assassination attempts are increasing.

The same is coming to America."

Duh it's been working for about 30 years. But now republicans are openly embracing it as a party. Their cult leader is a russian puppet, so therefore russia is good.

Russian spies, lies and sabotage are coming to America
thehill.com

|------- ... Much of Moscow's foundational preparation work is already here. The first wave came in the form of online Fifth Columnists, manipulating the information ecosphere. But the Russian bots and paid trolls [Effeteposers] inundating social media represent only the beginning.

America's open borders and the growing partnership between Russia and China are creating new opportunities for Moscow to conduct asymmetrical warfare in the U.S. The Kremlin is increasingly doing this by weaponizing Axis of Evil proxies from Caucasia and the Middle East.

Anti-Israel protests over the war in Gaza were the first overt example of this growing asymmetrical warfare breaking out into the open. Reportedly funded in part by Beijing, the campus protests quickly became fodder for Russian, Chinese and Iranian disinformation campaigns directed at the U.S., and this was no coincidence.

The Kremlin's aim is to create and widen America's political divide, and one means to that end is to radicalize significant numbers of young Americans. By this means, Moscow knows it can wreak violent havoc on America's streets anywhere from coast to coast. ...

Nonetheless, ready or not, the Russian military intelligence [GRU] is likely on the cusp of expanding its covert activities inside the U.S. It is already attempting to hit U.S. bases in Europe. On April 18, two Russians were arrested in Germany on suspicion of plotting sabotage attacks, including on U.S. military facilities.

Russia's growing hybrid warfare against the West may already be kinetic in the U.S. ...

There's nothing "new" about it. It's the same thing they've been doing since at least 2015.

I'm sure you recall Nullifidian or was it Andrea, A Mattress repeating Russian propaganda that Ukrainian Nazis shot down Malaysian Airlines.

I'm sure it was before my time here... and I have not been "invested," as you seem to be, to remember all the aliases that have been passing through here.

Russia has been doing this for decades, some people here still have brains fried with their propaganda, particularly regarding Middle East and Israel.

The "new opportunities" that article talks about is "growing partnership" between Russia and China who, until recently (at least until Trump's stupid tariffs and "trade war" which has not produced any of the benefits Trump was boasting about) have been, if not enemies, at least "unfriendly" with each other.

Russian propaganda is also working all over Europe where it promotes jingoism and xenophobia.

It appears that if a country is as good at propaganda at home as Russia is, taking to the rest of the world isn't that difficult.

Yawn. Who cares. Tend our own Garden and it's not a problem.

Too much meddling. Too much War. Not enough health care or environmental protection.

Iran could be an ally against the Saudi and the Israeli.

Think outside the box, free your mind.

Russia could be our Friend too. Just learn how to not give a ----.

@#11 ... Too much meddling. Too much War. ...

Yup. Pres Putin is meddling too much elsewhere, and his unprovoked invasion of a sovereign country is definitely causing too much war.

The only "wreaking havoc" on the streets during the last several years was from the George Floyd protests
