puberty blockers have not been proven to reduce gender dysphoria or improve body satisfaction, may damage a teenager's ability to think and reason and also that the rationale for suppressing puberty at all "remains unclear".

The government has today introduced regulations to restrict the prescribing and supply of puberty-suppressing hormones, known as 'puberty blockers', to children and young people under 18 in England, Wales and Scotland. The emergency ban will last from 3 June to 3 September 2024.

The use of puberty blockers in minors for the treatment of gender dysphoria is an off-label use. This means these medications are not approved by the FDA to treat this specific diagnosis.

Off label use typically serves only to increase profits of big pharma, not generally to provide proven significant therapeutic benefit. The outrageous idea that children have the sense to
unilaterally treat themselves with forever life changing drugs and gender changing surgery is a travesty and under no circumstances is it "healthcare". This is more of the same to serve only politics, and profiteers not children. Providers need incarcerated.

We used to have a right of privacy in this country (See Roe vs. Wade). Trump's SCOTUS took care of that little problem with Dobbs.

So you are correct, SCOTUS will leave the ban alone, deferring to the states. Soon to be followed by states banning gender transition care for adults.

And Ralph Nader, Jill Stein, and all of their voters will take a victory lap. Because they assured us that both parties are the same.

Let's start with:

"In Tennessee, the law prohibits three types of transgender medical care for minors " puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones and gender-transition surgeries."

Riddle me this dumbass.

How is it allowable that, say, a 15 year old girl can get breast reduction surgery for physical comfort or for appearance but not for gender transition? Can you define a difference between a breast reduction surgery for appearance vs gender transition? Isn't appearance a form of gender transition?

So, if a 15-year-old can get breast reduction surgery, to deny someone from getting one for gender transition is an obvious and blatant breach of the 14th Amendment.

Solicitor General Preloger identified the issue: "leaves the same treatments entirely unrestricted if they are prescribed for any other purpose."

Here is the applicable language from the 14th:

"No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States;..." and "...nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws."

It is a privilege to be able to obtain certain types of healthcare. Every person is entitled to equal protection, i.e. equal application of the law.

By the time a case gets to SCOTUS, the lawyers involved are such heavy hitters that a compelling case can be made in either direction. Your apparent inability to go locate and read the argument does not mean the argument doesn't exist or isn't strong.

Yes, and since the Dubbya/Trump SCOTUS has said that the medical right to privacy no longer exists, the states can regulate away.
