Pan Zhanle slams ‘disrespectful, arrogant Westerners’

Chinese fans have leapt to the defence of new 100m freestyle world-record holder Pan Zhanle, after a rival coach called his performance impossible, and the swimmer said his opponents from the United States and Australia had been "disrespectful". Social media users in China quickly rounded on "arrogant Westerners" and said it was "so satisfying to see their superiority complex smashed".

Idk about any of the drama because that's for TMZ and People magazine.

Great on the guy for beating his own WR in a challenging pool (shallower pool than other world champion level pools increasing swimmer wake).

If I'm told that a person who currently holds the best time record, wins that event, I'm not going to be surprised LOL.

Now how fast could he have swim that event if the pool was the normal Olympic quality to maximize everyone's performance!
