Normally, economic impact statements are not required to be on the ballot accompanying a Florida state Constitutional Amendment pertaining to civil libertites, but Gov. Ron DeSantis is requiring one for the proposed abortion Amendment.

Wonder what the economic impact was on this Florida woman whose pregnancy ended in a bathroom at home after doctors wouldn't treat her when her water broke at 16 weeks.

Desantis is actively seeking to stack to the deck in every way against this Amendment. When he runs for president in 2028, he wants to be able to brag to Republican primary voters that he was the only governor able to successfully block a ballot initiative to enshrine abortion rights.

Hopefully, voters of Florida will see right through this. But Desantis sure is making it hard to do that with his lies and deception.

When he runs for president in 2028

Oh man, he really should.

His numbers in the primary were fantastic!

Just bottom of the barrel performance.

Bravo, Ronnie bravo!

I've said this before, and I'll say it again, nobody outside of Florida is ever voting for this man.

I'm not sure how he convinced the idiots in Florida to vote for him in the first place.

Never underestimate the stupidity of idiots.

... His dishonest campaign ...

My view is more that the campaign reflects him, rather than him reflecting the campaign.

Trump opened the Personality Cult door for every rwing authoritarian dictator wannabe in the country to walk right through it.

The only good thing about DeSantis is that he actually has no personality.

But still, he's like the little train that tried... and bored everyone to tears.

He would be more dangerous than Trump, but no one actually likes him.

Well, except for the country boys that want their Daddy back to spank them some more.

@#1 ... Desantis is actively seeking to stack to the deck in every way against this Amendment. ...

Why?

Yeah, that is my first question.

Why does Gov DeSantis find the need to do this?

My second question might be along the lines....

With all those people (migrants) from the northern states that have been moving to Florida, and the excessive touting of that movement by some Florida cheerleaders, is Florida now starting to turn purple?

And that is Gov DeSantis' real problem here?

DeSatan has the charisma of a container of sour cream left out in the sun for a couple of days.

" DeSatan has the charisma of a container of sour cream left out in the sun for a couple of days."

So THATs what he's tasting when he makes that weird move with his tongue during that semi-smile of his!

Explains a lot.

Maybe.

But I fall back to the primaries he participated in.

The more the voters got to know him, the less they seemed to like him.

That leads me to ask....

Who else does the GOP got?

After the trump tragedy is over, the republicans in power wont be the ones who kissed his ass like desantis. They'll be the ones like cheney and kissinger who drew a line for the country.

Pudding fingers should have been aborted. Florida would be a much better place for it.

Bootsie is term-limited and cannot run for governor in the 2026 election. So what's open? At this point, baring an appointment in another Trump misadmimkstration, the guy seems kinda stuck. Skeletor Scott is running for reelection to the Senate this year. And Lil Marco won't be up again until 2028. That's a lot of time for DeSantis to become just another dimly remembered failed pol. Sorry, Casey, looks like the drapes are going back.
