North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper (D) said in an interview Sunday that he is "tired of seeing texts from children in a school telling their parents that they're afraid and that they love them" following a shooting at a high school in Georgia this week.

But hey, we can't do ny meaningful gun control because the founders secreyly wanted children to be afraid of school 200 years jn the future. Somehow the founders knew there would eventually be assh***s who would justify allowing lunatics to buy automayic weapons based on some ridiculous theory of law called origibalism. So based on that theory all the murders of kids in their schools are the fault of the founders and not the assh***s stillpresenting that theory of law which is actually just garbage that should have been thrown out while Antonin Scalia wayched. It could be said that he was responsible for more school shootings than anyone else in history.

The GOP is failing our children...time to send them all to the trash heap where they belong.

It doesn't have to be this way.

Yesterday, I answered a jury summons. After going through the rotations they use to thin the jury herd I was sent to the case where I would be part of the final cut for selection. It was for a school shooting that happened a while back. I wasn't selected but it boggles my mind this is even a discussion I could be part of.

Growing up it seemed like every family had a story of some kid relative who died from a gunshot wound... but it was 80% accident/carelessness and the occasional dumbfeckery that happens while hunting and farming... the rest was suicide and the rare homicide.

Now we settle disputes...
Most people who own an AR in this country can go to Piggly Wiggly and buy meat... I'm so over the I NEED it for hunting... and because I like to go hunting... and I'm a lazy@$$ wannabe hunter desiring to put the least amount of effort possible into the hunting experience.

The only time you NEED a weapon like that is when you are in a war zone.

On a global scale... there are fewer wars and more techno gadgetry doing the shooting in those wars and getting government contracts... I imagine it put a dent in sales to the small armaments biz... so now they have us at war with each other... to keep it rolling.

Why not let parents send little helicopter drones with their kids to schoolso they can constantly see what's going on? The drones could even be armed, so they could take out any shooters or bullies.

I once got one from my wife, a school teacher, as her classroom and school went into lockdown.

Sure, lots of people are tired of those. Why do you think there's such a push to ban cell phones from schools? If the kids can't touch their phones, they can't send the texts.

Drat, they figured out the conspiracy.

Does anyone really "text" any more? I thought most people sent messages through social media.

Just another "fact of life" now.

As the GOP intended.

Shooting notifications, stabbing notifications, kidnapping notifications...not to mention the pro-Palestinian rioters that took over part of the campus and were fighting with police.

Just got a minor one about an hour ago regarding robberies on campus. The kids don't have to do it. The school sends out a mass notification.

My wife changed jobs and is back in buildings again.

Today, I got a BOGO offer for soft level III ballistic armor backpack liners. Seriously considering getting her one for her bag. Will likely (hopefully) be a complete waste of money, but I'd rather waste $200 than worry about a bit of $$ and have something happen.
