Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

CNN's Elle Reeve got a big reaction when she told a MAGA boat parade guy in Panama City, Florida that he shouldn't be too worried about the economy because he is well-off enough to afford a boat. "The economy," he replied when asked for his most important election issue. "Getting interest rates down, getting it where we can afford to live in America again. Right now, it is too expensive." She pressed him: "If you can afford a boat, you're not hurting so bad, right? Because a boat costs a lot of money and has a lot of upkeep." "Listen, nobody gave me sh*t," the man, identified as Trump supporter Joe Harner, told her. "I earned everything that I've got. I'm retired military, retired power plant, and I am successful and retired -- with boats, with jet skis -- because I got it right. And everybody has that chance. Whether they choose to or not, that's up to them."

Reeve didn't stop, arguing: "I would never try to take anything away from you, but what I'm asking is groceries are probably a smaller part of your budget than, say, someone who's a little worse off. I think it's interesting that people who are a little bit more comfortable are still so concerned about the economy. Do you see what I'm saying?"

So, another welfare queen self-made man living off the taxpayer both while working and in retirement?

... Trump supporter made CNN reporter eat crow on air ...

I don't see any substantiation of the headline's assertion in the summary quotes or the linked article.

Can you explain?

Eat crow?

He basically admitted he benefitted from social plans, higher wages, lower costs in the past and the problems younger people face today aren't his problem.

He admitted he benefitted from "working hard" but even if working hard was no longer enough, it's not his problem.

He's literally the definition of Boomer who pulled up the ladder behind him.

Gracie, if you are too stupid to understand this, it explains why you are voting for Trump.

Gracie, was your headline meant to be parody or do you seriously believe this garbage?

That guy is living off his government funded military/social security retirement along with whatever retirement he has one of the most, if not the most, subsidized industries in the country, Energy, and he's claiming no one ever gave him anything.
LOL! Trump supporters are the most delusional people I've ever heard and I've spent some time working around psych patients.
